Casey did an amazing job on a few drywall patches I had that the plumber left after repairs. He was honest and affordable. I appreciate what he did for us and would definitely use him again.

Hired on Thumbtack

We bought a home that needed an immediate bath revision - Alfie came out immediately and gave us a reasonable bid and promised us a 7 day time line. We were impressed with his presentation, commitment and general demeanor. We spoke extensively about deadlines and that we were expecting a baby in a few weeks – he promised to start the following Monday and be completed within 7 working days. We hired him and delayed moving 2 weeks to allow him time to finish the job and a few days buffer. We also asked him for his license and insurance - which he promised to get to us. Day 1 Monday - he said he would be there first thing in the morning, but we received a text in the afternoon saying he had been in car accident and he had to buy a new car - and he would be there in the am. Requested License and Insurance again and was told he was looking for it. Day 2 Tuesday- around 2 pm he finally showed up and started demo... about 2 hours later, he texted and said he had cut himself and had to go to the ER. Day 3 Wednesday- 3 pm - we get a text that says his leg hurts and he's not going to work today, but he would be back at it the next day. We confirmed that we had a moving date and he would have it completed. Requested License and Insurance again and was told his girlfriend was looking for it. Day 4 Thursday - no sign of him, we texted/called at 1 pm, finally received a message at 4 pm saying he was busy on other jobs and wouldn't be there today or the next two days but he would work on Sunday to get it done. Again, we reiterated the moving date and baby coming, he promised repeatedly that he would be able to meet the moving date but would have to use the buffer days we built in. Day 7 - Sunday - Alfie doesn't show up, we text and call multiple times. And no reply, no answer, no show. And no communication since. He has completely disappeared. We are now in a much worse situation than when he started - The bathroom is a total disaster, we used to have a toilet and sink that worked, but they have been removed. The shower was at least intact - now it has a giant hole in the wall and a huge safety hazard for us and our 3 year old with broken tile framing and a wires. The whole bathroom is a dusty, destroyed unusable mess that we have to keep the door closed on. We are moving 2 weeks later than we had anticipated and we are expecting a new baby any day. He put us in a terrible situation where we are scrambling to find someone who can complete the work, which will now be done with a newborn and us living in the space as well as family coming for the baby. We don't know what happened, but he swore he had helpers and was going to be able to complete our project. Don't get suckered by him, he is a one man show, he has no helpers, he is unable to provide his license and insurance, and if anything happens to him your project is doomed.
