- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm Cassandra. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and received an award for highest ranked female in Electrical Engineering. I worked in the engineering field for 10 years up until I got married and started raising my family. During my time working as an engineer, I always missed being in the classroom learning math, so I started tutoring part-time in all subject areas, including elementary math, algebra, calculus, Circuit Theory, science, history & English. Although, I have experience tutoring in all subjects, my focus lies in math. I started tutoring in pre- algebra in the 7th grade when I was approached by my 7th grade math teacher. Not only did she believe I understood the subject so well but I had a way of explaining the information to my fellow peers that helped them make sense of the concepts. I also tutor my 2 kids, a 6 year old girl in 1st grade and an 11 year old boy in middle school, who both do very well. My oldest is in advanced 6th grade math taking algebra & geometry, and through tutoring him in these advanced courses, I have re- discovered my love for math again & I'm loving it! I look forward to working with you. I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, and therefore, welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson! I will help you realize how simple & fun math can be! If you are willing to learn, I can help improve your math grade. Contact me to schedule your lesson today!
