FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before any tutoring session, I like to know the subject matter and material that tutoring is needed in so that I can ensure that I am fit to help in the subject matter and don't waste anyone's time in the process. I prepare for my tutoring sessions by brushing up on the material and finding practice problems that go over all of the main concepts that the material covers.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Pine View graduate who attended the school grades 2-12, and I have personal experience in the subject matter of AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and any other 2-12 math and chemistry classes that are offered throughout the Sarasota County School District. I also underwent extensive preparation to take the SAT and ACT, which I am available to tutor in the math sections for both of these tests. I also took SAT II exams in math and chemistry and scored a perfect score on the chemistry SAT II Following graduating high school, I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I graduated with honors with my B.S. in chemical engineering. At Pitt, I completed relevant courses such as Calculus I, II, and III, Differential Equations, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, as well as Organic Chemistry I and II. My experience in all of these classes has showed me what tools are best to use when mastering different math and chemistry concepts.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've tutored both college and high school level students, and I also have experience interacting with kids ages 10-14 from my experience being a camp counselor at a sleepaway camp.
