Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My name is Jeff Sokol. I'm a strength and movement coach certified through StrongFirst Inc. I specialize in kettlebell, barbell, and bodyweight training. I'm also a FMS (functional movement screen) certified coach. The FMS assists me in finding asymmetries in the body and correcting them. I've been certified through StrongFirst for 6 years, and was recently promoted to StrongFirst Team Leader. One of only two in Washington. With this promotion, part of my duties is to help certify new StrongFirst coaches. My goal as a coach is to create human durability. To be durable one must have strength, stability, mobility, and flexibility. Too many people just focus on one of these things and are missing the point. I ensure my clients have them all. I work with a wide range of people. From a 16 year old athlete, retired NHL hockey player, to a 75-year-old grandmother. I haven't met a person that can't work with. I work at an amazing facility in lower Queen Anne, Elite Sorts and Spine. So I'm also well-versed in the rehab environment. I like to keep things fun, effective, and to the point. If you're looking for professional coaching, I've got your back! I truly love my job. Six years ago I was overweight, depressed, and hopeless. I was lucky enough to discover proper strength training. Training that focuses on strength as a skill. I jumped in head first and changed my life. Now I do the same for others.

Jeff's knowledge of kettlebells and functional movement is of the highest quality. Every session I learn something new to add to my knowledge base. I started training with Jeff at a time when I was at my lowest physically and emotionally. After two years of weekly training with Jeff I am the strongest I have been both physically and emotionally. Jeff teaches strength as a practice. Not simply lifting weights for the sake of getting in shape (although that is a by-product) but getting strong so you can enjoy the activities you love in life. Whenever someone comes to Jeff with a physical limitation he is quick to tailor a program to maximize every movement, keeping in mind that every movement has a purpose in daily life. His energy and care for everyone he comes into contact with is something we should strive for.

Just try a single session with Jeff. Do it. He's one of the friendliest and most motivating people I know. You don't need to spend much time with Jeff to learn some fundamental strength exercises better than 99% of people on the planet. After my first session with Jeff I kept signing up for more and more. I meant to only do 10 sessions, and there is NO pressure to do more, but I just couldn't stay away. I felt stronger than I had in years and it just kept getting better. About 18 months later I stopped my private sessions with Jeff, but I continue to apply what I was taught almost every day. Learn from the coach of coaches. It's not often you are exposed to such a gifted trainer like Jeff Sokol. I'm Sokol Strong for life now because I have the right tools, techniques and attitude. Can't thank Jeff enough.

May is my 1 year anniversary working out wirh my awesome trainer Jeff and I am a new woman! Why is Jeff awesome, he is loud, funny, movitativing, serious about being strong so you can do the things you want and need to do in life and above all he is safe. I had never worked with Kettle Bells and when I started last year I hadn't worked out with weights in over 4 years. He makes sure there is no shame in starting where you are. Perfect form and making sure your last rep is your best rep so you can work out again tomorrow. Jeff will encourage you to live a STRONG life. Love one of 'The Nurses'

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first thing I do when I meet a potential client is get a clear understanding of their goals and their health background. I put every client through a functional movement screen.
