FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $20 per hour, regardless of their location. When I lived in Minnesota, many of my clients ended up pay a flat fee after I had worked for them for a few years, since it took about the same time every time I was there.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually go to the house first, so that I can talk with the customer to find out what they wants done and so I can see the house for myself. That way I can give a more accurate idea of how long it would take to clean it, both the first few times and regular maintenance after that.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I enjoyed cleaning my own house and after leaving position as a department manager at a local grocery store, I started working for the county Family Services Agency. I worked with older people who couldn't do the work themselves or who couldn't afford it. The county would pay me to clean for them. I also started working for a number of my wife's co-workers and word of mouth spread from there! I've worked for around 120 people and businesses over the last 17 years. When I moved to Indiana, I had 20 clients that I had worked for for 10 years or more and another 10 that I had worked for for at least 5 years.
