I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Ed Holgate and Southern Power Experts for his prompt and professional response to my request for possibly repairing or replacing our 11 year old Generac whole house generator. The generators stator (coils) had shorted and burned out causing major damage to the unit. When Ed came out to our home to assess the problem, he had researched several alternatives for replacing the generator. After considerable discussion and evaluation of our situation and the fact that we planned to put our house on the market fairly soon, we both agreed that it would be in our best interests to disconnect the old generator and rewire the electric circuits to the original power panels. Ed and his certified electrician arrived on May 15, 2018 to change all the wiring and disconnect the old generator from our propane source. The propane line was capped so that a new generator could be installed if a future owner wanted that option. The certified electrician did an excellent job and after the rewiring job was completed, he and Ed agreed to check 3 sets of 2-way switches that had been a problem for us for years. They found problems with all 3 sets of switches and spent considerable time (at no additional cost to us) to repair the switch wiring. The friendliness and professionalism of Ed and his electrician was outstanding and if I were to give them a rating on this job, it would be 5 Stars out of 5! I would certainly recommend Southern Power Experts to anyone needing electrical work done or wanting to consider installing a generator.

The new owner of his home may value differently a standby generator for their home. A generator will add value to a home but to replace the old generator with a new one, at this point may not be his best return on investment. Mr Hudson will advise the agent that a generator was installed previously and the fact that the gas line already run will be a value added. Thanks Mr. Hudson and good luck in your new home.

The owner was on time for every meeting, delivery on every commitment, his electricians were very knowledgeable about the generator and and the whole deal was very professional. Walked us through the whole deal and handled the warranty and wifi hookup. I would recommend them to my best friend. Best deal in North Ga.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customer contacts us, we visit within days with a free onsite professional evaluation and explore owners needs. Usually that day we have a proposal with current promotions for the best deal for them not what I have in inventory. Best deal from best manufacturer, with the warranties services, financing and features they want. Collect down payment or secure financing, schedule install date. Installs take a min of 5 hours with our onsite trained factory technicians, licensed and insured electricians to code and HOA requirements. After completion and testing we conduct an owners orientation and training. Explaining warranties, operation, service plan options, getting help, warranty activation and extended warranties. At end of orientation we then ask to sign off on job for financing or collect final balance due. Our first goal from the owner to the installers is a satisfied customer and that we have given them peace of mind.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As owner I have owned manufacturing companies and served in customer service all my life and I have a proven record to give you the best service. As for the licensed electricians, each has been 25+ years in the business of taking care of customers power needs in the North Ga. area. As a Generac Dealer we have been given factory training for generator installation and receive continued support from Generac with the latest updates on service, installation, improvements, insights, recalls, and upgrades. We are generator specialist! That all we do. Not electricians that install a few generators per year.
