- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All in-person appointments, like Wardrobe Consults or Personal Shopping trips, are $130/hr. Pre-Shopping (or pulling as you might know it) is done before a Shopping Appointment and is $95/hr. After that, my Online Services like Online Shopping or Hue & Stripe Lookbooks are $75/hr. Travel fees are incurred for any travel to the East, North, or South Bay, from Belmont on.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to sent out my New Client Questionnaire. This helps me gather information like how the client would describe their style now, what stores they like to shop in, what they hope to get out of our time together, as well as things like if they have any allergies to metals or fibers. Then, we set up an appointment to go through their closet together. I like the Sort, Shop, Style method-- the client ahead of time will Sort and set aside piles of things they like to wear now, things they don't wear but want to (I call them orphans), and things they just don't wear anymore and want to get rid of. We then Shop and Style the pieces together from the things they wear and the things they want to wear to see if we can restyle them and create new outfits that feel fresh and in-line with what the client likes now. As we progress, we'll start to identify the holes- things that are missing but should be added to really maximize what we decide to keep. We'll also make sure to add any items that need to be replaced because we wound up donating the older or out of date version. Next, the fun part- setting up a time to shop! Of course, where we shop will be slightly different for each client depending on their size, style, and budget, but the process remains the same-- I take the Shopping List with me and pull everything on the list and then some. I like to make sure my client has access to the best of what's available. I'll also pull in multiples so that it reduces the amount of time spent running to the floor looking for alternate sizes or other color ways. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Apparel Design & Merchandising, emphasis in Design, from San Francisco State University. I graduated in 2008 and have been enjoying my love affair with fashion ever since.
