FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1:Consultation During our first meeting we will discuss the scope of your project and your goals. Step 2: Site Measure and Photographs We will take detailed measurements and photographs of all the spaces involved in your project, to ensure the architectural plans are an accurate representation of the current space. Step 3:Space Planning We will develop floor plans for each room. We will determine what pieces best fit into the space, how traffic patterns flow through each room, and ensure we meet applicable codes. We then schedule a meeting to review each floor plan and discuss the pros and cons of each with the decision maker(s). Step 4: Design Concept We begin developing a color scheme that communicates your style, and sourcing furniture, fixtures and materials. Materials for flooring, walls, counters and cabinetry are selected. A lighting concept is developed. Drawings, samples and conceptual images are gathered. Step 5: Concept Presentation and Approval You will be presented with carefully edited selections that represent the best choices for your space. We will go through the design and you will be presented with materials, drawings, photos and samples for your approval. Timely approval of the design concept is crucial for maintaining accurate pricing and ensuring the availability of some design elements. If the design is not approved in a timely manner there may be additional costs associated with replacing items that are no longer available. Once the design has been approved and all elements are finalized we can begin executing our design. Step 6:Scheduling A time-table is developed for purchasing and ordering, work to be done by trades, and final installation. This schedule will be adjusted along the way to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. Please be aware that most projects take several weeks to install and complete. Step 7: Procurement Before any items are purchased on your behalf you will receive a proposal for approval that details the item to be purchased. Nothing will be purchased without your approval. Step 8:Installation & Accessorizing All work by the trades has been completed. Now the furnishings are delivered, merchandise is placed and art is hung. It involves adding finishing touches that make your space feel complete and prepares it for professional photography.

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have three years of experience working for an architecture firm. There, I was exposed to assisting our in-house interior designer and gained experience on many projects including healthcare and public schools. My interest in interior design process flourished and I discovered that I enjoyed it more than the architecture production work I had completed.
