FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not offer hourly rates. It does not benefit my clients. If you had 3 painters give you quotes, are you gonna choose the one that quotes a price for the entire room, or the one who tells you the hourly rate? What's in your best interest is for me to tell you how many sessions it will take to do what you ask instead of charging you by the hour. My goal by the end of our time together, is for you to have all the tools you need to avoid any further assistance from me or any other trainer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I do not believe in wasting anyone's time or money, so I ask each client to fill out a questionnaire to help me fully understand the issues. This way when we have our first meeting, we can start working right away instead of asking you a bunch of questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of the APDT, maintain a number of Continuing education credits every year, and am currently working on becoming an AKC-CGC certified trainer. Unfortunately the world of dog training is completely unregulated, so anyone with a business card can say they are a 'trainer'. That is why I follow a very specific Code of Ethics governed by the APDT, so that my clients know I am knowledgeable, reliable and effective. It is important to me that you get the best, because you deserve a trainer who is committed to working hard for you so you can get back to enjoying your life as quickly as possible. I have also attended Dr. Ian Dunbar's Dog Trainers Academy, and mentored with Fawn Pierre of SmartyPup!
