Introduction: I am a Certified Teacher, with 17yrs of experience in various envionments. I am a highly qualified profesional mobile tutor. I have a B.A in Elementary Education k-6 and been certified in both: Elementary Education K-6 and Exceptional Student Education K-12. In fact I just recently reinstated my Exceptional Student Education Certification in June of 2015! Hello There! My name is (Miss) Jill and I am a very experienced and qualified professional teacher and tutor! I've been in teaching for 17 years and I have taught in many different kinds of environments. I've taught whole class, small group, and one-on-one in both public and private schools as well as home tutoring. I have taught and worked with other teachers, social workers, and school psychologist as well as on my own, and have had my own tutoring practice on and off for about 9 years now. I am proficient in reading and interpreting psychological reports and IEP plans. I do work extremely well with students that need remedial help and with children that have learning disabilities andI am trained and skilled in a specialized reading program that works with all students! It addresses all aspects of reading, from decoding to comprehension and more! My specialty is in Language Arts and Literacy (Reading, writing etc.), but I do tutor well across subjects including Math and History/Social Studies. I believe that teaching is my purpose and calling! I love to connect to a student, and will assess and identify the best way to teach to a child, on an ongoing basis, so they can learn successfully, and then watch them as they progress and succeed! I am not your typical, “inside the box” teacher/tutor. As they learn, the children do many activities as that as soon as I see they may be losing interest in one task, I switch it up, bringing their attention back to learning! I am excellent at helping children to believe in themselves. In fact, this is the foundation in which I work upon for their success. I raise their self-esteem regarding their skills and knowledge by providing a safe atmosphere in which they can experience immediate success, thereby raising their confidence level while progressively moving on to more challenging skills! I love working with children who really need to feel safe and secure when they are learning. I enjoy creating that learning environment for them, and use many techniques to keep them motivated, raise their self-esteem as they succeed. I love seeing the look on their faces when they have achieved things, they didn't know they could!
