Nicole and her crew are AWESOME! They were so kind helping my college age son switch apartments and they did an amazing job - the place was SPARKLING when they were done. I highly recommend their services and will be using them again in the future!

I was very much excited to find a family run cleaning business. My hopes were that I would have the same person coming into my house, on a scheduled basis, and that is exactly what Neatniks is. I requested a quote through Thumbtack, from several of the cleaning companies and they each replied. Neatniks was a bit more expensive than the others, however, because they were what I was looking for, they were my first choice. My husband offered to call and ask a few specific questions and if he was also happy, he would set up a cleaning day. We set up an appointment with Neatniks for this past Monday.
Nicole is the one of the owners of Neatnik and she called my husband, on his cell phone, while she was on her way over to our house, to give us a heads-up and to tell him she would be doing a deep cleaning on our house.
He called me at home to let me know. Unfortunately, I had no idea what a deep cleaning involved and wondered why she would expect to have to do that when, not only did I request a quote for a regular cleaning, but she had never seen our house; it is just the two of us and two dogs, and we are extremely neat.
Nicole arrived right on time. We sat down at the kitchen table to discuss what I expected. I was looking for house cleaning for every two weeks, to clean bathrooms, floors, dust and vacuum. She said she would do a deep cleaning the first time which included floor boards and cleaning the inside of the refrigerator, window sills, dusting the top of shelves. I told her that my frig was clean and so were my window sills, but she insisted. I do not know if this is Neatniks requirement when they start a job, however, I do know it is a very poor business practice. The price was $86 dollars more than her quote, for a total of $225. I told her that my house was very clean and we really just wanted the bathrooms, kitchen, and floors cleaned, and some spots on the walls where the dogs lean, and carpets vacuumed as well as the patio door and patio table cleaned, but I agreed to the $225 price.
Well, she did a nice job on dusting. She did a nice job on the patio door and table, the bathtub, the spare bedroom. Unfortunately, I had to ask her to clean the master shower (I was shocked when she was done in there and the shower and glass had not been cleaned); I had cleaned it a week and half before, so it was in great shape, however, that is what I hired her to do.
The vacuuming was shotty; there were places under tables or behind chairs that were not done. However, when I pointed them out, she did them right away. Our kitchen table has a small wood shelf under the table that was not dusted. The kitchen sink was not cleaned at all, which is a big thing for me since we cook a lot of meals at home.
Unfortunately, Nicole ran out of time (she had another house set up after ours), and she never did clean the baseboards or the spots on the walls that were dirty from our dogs.
I am dumbfounded that a business owner would up-sell a job before ever seeing it and then not have enough time to finish it!!
I really like Nicole and I feel the things she missed are something we can work on. I especially feel comfortable having her in my house. I am hoping that we can give it another chance. I would love to be able to update my feedback and give Neatniks a better review!

I am updating my review from 2 stars to 4 stars.
Neatniks has been out to clean our house for the second time, and the experience was much better! Nicole is very professional and has great communication. The cleaning was much better and Nicole is a wonderful person; she is eager to make her company topnotch and asks questions so she can satisfy her clients. There were a few minor things missed, however, I might be partly to blame because I was talking to her a lot while she was working. I have no doubt that with her positive and enthusiastic attitude, I will be updating to a 5 star review in the near future!
