Sarah Minor Design
About this pro
Don't let the name fool you. Minor Designs is a major deal. I once requested her to design a logo for my dessert and grill joint, Short and Sweet. We sat down and she discussed the plan in a thoughtful and attentive manner, asking me questions thoroughly on how I wanted the design to go. She is very knowledgeable on many artistic styles, and especially proficient in graphic arts. Working with her was a real pleasure, as she exuded this natural confidence that was telling of her near decade long experience, but also with a humility that shows that no matter the background, she is all about helping you realize your goals. The design I got spoke of my goals: a chill spot for chill food. I adored my logo. The best part is that she did such a heavily detailed job at a reasonable price. You need a design done quickly and efficiently, she's your girl. I'm one to reward merit that mirrors one's passions, and Minor Designs can in turn help your business dreams become a beautiful reality.Oct 26, 2017

It was a pleasure to work with Sarah to create her banner for her business, Raw Earth Grounding.
I had sketched out a logo and the general idea for a flyer for my new business, but I knew they needed a professional touch. I needed someone to take my basic ideas and present them in a way that expressed the aspirations of my new venture. I looked over Sarah's portfolio; I could see she had a good artistic eye, but she was showcasing her big, bold, exciting work there. I needed something more conventional, but still attractive and polished. Sarah was a joy to work with. She prototyped the materials, and then took my suggestions and ran with them. We converged on a design that I am frankly thrilled with. I will be handing out business cards with great pride.Oct 10, 2017Sarah M.'s reply
Freeman made my job easy. He had a great concept already in place, he just needed a designer's touch to go live and I'm grateful he chose me.
I would highly recommend Sarah Minor, whom I've known for 10 years, as your next Graphic Designer. Sarah was my classmate in my Beginning Acting class at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). I have come to know Sarah as a hardworking, dedicated individual who goes above and beyond to achieve excellence. She is driven to learn new things and is determined in her journey to solve problems and develop new solutions. Upon booking Sarah for my graphic design needs, I was reassured of her professionalism from our first meeting. She is a genius at her craft. She was already brainstorming designs on the spot and asking for my approval. She listened attentively to what I needed. She's very patient as well, often revising despite my frequent requests for changes as I can be quite particular. Even so, she continued to give me the most polished, professional service and product she can produce. Her eye for design is unbeatable. With Sarah's background in art, her attention to detail, and her ability to put her clients at ease, I am sure I have chosen the best person to work with. I couldn't be more thankful to her for using her creativity to produce my very first logo and I look forward to future endeavors.Oct 23, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically work through a retainer system per hourly basis. A retainer is a fee paid in advance to me in order to secure or keep my services which essentially acts like a secured credit card against which I log my hours against. On very clearly defined projects, I also develop fixed pricing, but those come with considerable restrictions. Either way, I will always deliver high-quality work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Listening to their needs is the most important step in the process. Once their needs have been assessed, an action plan will be put into place. I typically start with a phone or in-person conversation for me to fully understand exactly what your needs are. I begin by asking key questions to get an idea what you will need from me as a designer. Based on the picture you've discussed with me, I will provide a full proposal that lays out in details the deliverables, cost, and turn-around time. Lastly, I strive to build a solid relationship that can open up doors for future business together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Bachelors of Art in Graphic Design and Sculpture with 10+ years experience with graphic design including print design, web graphics, logo design, invitations, posters, and more; 20+ years experience with fine arts including drawing and illustration (with different mediums: charcoal, India ink, gesso, graphite, colored pencil, etc.), painting (acrylic), and sculpture (with clay, woodworking, paper mache, styrofoam, and plaster).
