Introduction: Hello! My name is Jon Meadows, and I am a headshot specialist in Washington, D.C. I am an associate photographer of Peter Hurley, the authority on headshots worldwide. To me, a headshot is about one's face and expression. My sessions are engaging, which produce great results and make the time fly by. The first thing that will happen is a little education. I'll teach you everything I know about how to look confident and approachable in front of my camera. We'll then find your best angle, and I'll work with you on the body positions that work the best for you. Then it's all a matter of working together to get an expression that rocks. I care about what we will create together as a team. We'll get it done. I promise. I love creating great images of people who say they're not photogenic. The human face is beautiful; everybody can have a great headshot, because it's not about having perfect skin or perfect nose, mouth, eyes, jawline; it's about capturing the person.

Jon is the rare combination of talented professional and extremely personable, which not only led to a great finished product, but made the photo session an enjoyable experience itself. We worked through what I was looking for, his directions were clear, detailed, & helpful, and he takes time and sets people at ease so that their personalities can come through while ensuring he can capture a high quality headshot you can use across platforms. Additionally, the quick turn-around on the edited product meant I could immediately begin using my new photos. I absolutely loathe getting pictures taken. In fact, when I was married years ago, I skipped the bridal photos and even did without a wedding photographer. As I’ve moved along in my profession, it became apparent that I needed a real headshot so I put my apprehension aside and sought out a professional. Jon impressed me from the start. He was easy to communicate with via email and had evening and weekend availability to fit my work schedule. When the actual photo shoot occurred, he made it as painless as possible. He provided guidance on what shirt color would look best and then worked with me throughout the shoot, periodically reviewing the images and providing feedback on improvements to get a solid result. At times I felt pretty silly, but he put me at ease and even went over the allotted 30 minutes to make sure I had an image we were both happy with. I was going for something that didn’t look stiff or unnatural and Jon totally delivered. Highly recommend.

Jon is great to work with. He provides a relaxed yet highly professional atmosphere and was able to coach me well. He pays close attention to the details of each shot and tries to evoke a variety of responses from his subject. Jon is a great combination of professional and personable. While he is using professional techniques to get your position right he is simultaneously putting you at ease to get honest and genuine expressions, which results in great headshots. I've worked with other photographers and can honestly say that Jon's approach was unique and resulted in some of my best shots. He's also committed to getting the right photo regardless of time, rather than focusing on the time allotted for the session. Overall my experience was excellent and I would absolutely recommend Jon to anyone looking to get headshots.
