FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Consultations are recommended and cost $250 for up to 2 hours. In order to officially reserve a consultation, payment must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled consultation date. Pricing for our custom wall painting starts as low as $7 per square foot. Full room decor and renovation services are customized to meet your budget and design needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to start each new DKA client off with a consultation. This can be done via video calls, however, we recommend full-room decor and renovation clients make time for an in-home consultation. During this time we will go over your design needs, wants, clarify the services you need, set a budget, and timeline. Before moving forward into a full-scale project we work closely with our clients to ensure they have a clear understanding of the most efficient way to allocate their budget. Communication prior, during, and after this process is important. We encourage our clients to ask questions, call us, email us, get them out; we certainly will! Once we have reached an agreement on the scope of the work and budget, we begin the process of implementing your design. We only work with the most reputable, licensed, insured, and accredited contractors that will best meet our clients needs. Payment options are available for clients that really want to stretch their budgets and do more over an extended period of time. Remember slow and study won the race!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
DKA's lead interior designer, Danielle Kelly, has been designing and creating art for well over 10 years! Starting her career as a retail associate for Banana Republic, she quickly worked her way up to Assistant Visual Director and then became the lead Visual Manager for the Sisley/Benetton Inc. Stores in the Georgetown and Pentagon areas of D.C. After graduating from Howard University with her B.B.A, she found the need to spread her wings outside of the world of retail. Danielle began to assist with seasonal window arrangements and everyday decor needs of local salons and shop owners in D.C. and Boston; a trade she inherited from her mother, who spent 32 years in the world of Visual Arts and Merchandising. Danielle's work decorates residences and commercial interiors from Boston, MA to North Carolina.
