FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked mainly with people in highschool and college doing headshots and engagment, but have just started working with many different ages and backgrounds. I was told once that because I'm younger (being only a 20 something year old) people who are older wouldn't want to shoot with me because I wouldn't be relatable enough. I honestly think age doesn't matter. As long as you try to connect to the customer, both will have a successful experience.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Not necessarily recent, but when my friends trusted me to do their engagement shoot. It was my first real shoot and the couple and myself didn't really know if we were doing it right. But we laughed a lot and just started throwing ideas out there and testing different things. The pictures turned out beautiful and it made me confident enough to pursue it further.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Go with your gut. Even if the person may have nice photos or look good on paper, if you don't feel they are a good fit then don't work with them. You want someone who you'll feel comfortable and happy to be around to make the session enjoyable and not torturous. Plus if you're unhappy it would show in the pictures. Also if you have an idea or opinion tell the photographer! If you know there's a certain pose or style you want then try it out. These are your pictures and you're the one who will be utilizing them. I would hate to do an entire shoot and realize it's not at all what the person wanted. Plus I'm always open to try new things or get constructive criticism :)
