FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we meet with our customers we go over the options they’re looking at and what it is they want out of their floor. Whether the floor needs to be food grade and 100% waterproof, stain proof, and slip proof. If the floor needs to meet these specs polished concrete is out of the equation. We then go over the look they’re after. If it’s a restaurant setting we usually recommend our customers get joint fill to prevent food and debri getting in them. It also makes it easier to keep a sanitary environment. The customer usually chooses 1-2 options they like. We measure the square footage and send a quote within 1-2 hours via email.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We work directly with our venders to get training on the products they provide us with. Most of our training is specific to the products we use. Most of our training is universal to epoxy coating.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was first employed by a company that services Walmart’s polished concrete needs from Alaska to Utah and surrounding states. I traveled a lot through the years which I didn’t mind. I decided to go out on my own and start taking classes on epoxy overlays and the proper prep on jobs. I got certified and have taken multiple classes on a variety of products from epoxy coatings, flake, polished and stained concrete and more. After that I bought the same equipment I ran while traveling with my previous employer. I continue to expand my knowledge in the decorative concrete trade by being out in the field as well as continually learning about the newest techniques and products.
