Parents, the best thing you can do for your childs English grades, writing confidence, and SAT prep is to hire Anne McGee. I mean this sincerely. I had Ms. McGee in 11th grade, and her teaching completely changed my life. She had a reputation for being tough but fair, and the work paid off; in my class alone, five of us earned a perfect score on the verbal section of the SATs, thanks to her weekly vocabulary assignments. It is a big deal for a school to have one student earn a perfect score on a portion of the SATs, but Ms. McGee had FIVE in one year. She also helped me learn how to focus my writing and analyze literature in a deep and meaningful waytwo skills that proved absolutely essential in college and beyond. The confidence Ms. McGee gave me led me to pursue graduate studies in English and become an English teacher myself. I currently work in publishing and I still look to her as one of the most important and influential mentors of my life. Customers e-mail me their work; I suggest changes. At certain points, the customer and I speak on the phone to discuss the material.
