FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I consider myself to be reasonable for a professional. Generally, I am a little below market price. For kitchen, bath, and other remodels I give a detailed estimate outlining what the subcontractors and I charge and what the homeowner is responsible for. I don't mark up my subs or materials. I do charge a general contractor commission.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I introduce myself personally and give the name of my company. I ask them to describe what they are looking for and then ask them some questions to ensure I will give them an accurate estimate. We then schedule a free estimate at their convenience. If it is a large project I will send them an email going over what we discussed at the time of the visit. Otherwise I submit a written estimate by email or personally. The estimate will have a detailed description of what I will do, and payment terms. If my bid is accepted we work out a start and finish date.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my state of North Carolina residential contractor's license. I have painted and remodeled residential properties for over 30 years. I have a wealth of experience dealing with older homes as well as new construction.
