FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will want to communicate with a potential client so that I can get to know them a little bit, a few things I want to know are their tastes in photography, what they plan to use these photos for so I can customize the session to the clients desires. I will ask details to prepare for the session. Once the session is confirmed and we've chosen a date I send an email with all the details we went over so that everyone is on the same page and we all know what to expect... I am a big advocate for knowing what's going to happen so I extend that courtesy to all my clients. I will also send an invoice for the session payment that can be easily paid online, securely through paypal. I like to keep in touch with the client frequently and several of my clients will text me pictures of their outfits and/or props they want to work with etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught. DSLR manual mode camera control as well as photoshop. I am continuously learning and that is one of the best things about photography for me is that I will never "know it all" there are always new techniques, styles etc. to learn!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a camera in my hand, in middle school the first 35mm camera I got was the absolutely BEST Christmas present my mother could have given me. I had rolls and rolls of film to develop and of course it was all snap shots of friends and mostly school events but I think because of those moments I have a natural creative composition style. I started scrapbooking in 1999 and somewhere in 2004 I decided I wanted to learn how to take better photos for my scrapbooks. I wanted to know how to make a dark and grainy picture better... it was a lot to take in and took me a long time to understand but by 2009 I was pretty good... just 2 year later was my first paid gig and since then it's been my love, needless to say I haven't scrapbooked since about 2007 lol
