Stay Away from this contractor if you care about your home. I hired Chad on 12.3.16 to install a brand new door on an older home. The work can be considered below par. The locks do not even properly engage on the door and there are many cracks from wedging the door in. I had paid Chad 120 dollars to paint the front door on top of the fee for the door installation. Well Chad thought he could take advantage of me because he believed I was stupid. Chad did not bother to sand the door down and proceeded to paint the door as quickly and as furiously as he could. There are over 60 flaws on my door. He forgot to paint certain sections, there are sections that look like zebra stripes from the white primed bottom and the color applied. He used brush strokes in all kinds of directions. There is pain on the side of the door where it is supposed to be white, paint on the glass and my hardware, he decided to paint the door with my brand new hardware already installed. Basic painting 101 is to paint before you install hardware. He kept insisting that all of this would dry up and disappear but yet wanted to be paid asap. A few hours later the door looked awful I contacted him and Chad started to play games that he might get back to me the following week. Knowing contractor personalities he was waiting for my check to clear so that he could disappear. I asked him to return half of the painting cost as a court would see that as the only fair thing and he started to complain and wanting to only give back 40 dollars. He finally agreed after quite a bit of grief, when I asked him to provide me with the receipt from the door purchase on my behalf he started to not wanting to provide me with a receipt for the door he purchased from lowes on my behalf. He was paid for the pick up and delivery plus reimbursed for the door it is only my right to have that receipt. Honestly find a better contractor there are quite a few that care about quality and decency. I am sorry to hear that Michael was unhappy with the work. The door installation went in smoothly without any issues. After, he had signed the estimate which did not include painting or installation of new hardware he decided on the day of to have me paint the exterior of the door. He had the paint and I said I would. The door he picked out from Lowes was a fiber glass paint ready door. I painted the door with two coats. Michael then looked over the door and said it was good. I left with payment and a satisfied customer. A few hours later he contacted me and said there was some minor issues with the paint. He asked me to come back the next day. I told him a couldn't make it the next day, but would come back the following day to take care of the minor paint issues. He immediately said no and that he wanted a discount on the paint. I offered $40.00 back and he said he wanted $60.00. I then agreed that $60.00 was fine and gave him that the very next day. I gave him his purchase receipt from Lowes, sales receipt for the work, and a refund receipt for the $60.00. I was initially surprised that he would not let me remedy the minor paint issues. I feel that I have done everything I can to satisfy this customer. I take pride in my work and customer satisfaction is my number one priority. As my other reviews have shown customers have been very happy with my quality of work.
