Since switching to CPA Accounting I have been able to straighten out my act when it comes to my business accounting. Sonia, Vanessa, Myriam and Hazel have educated me and also put up with me at times since I am not always easy to deal with due to my limited access at times. I always feel like I am a top priority when I contact the office and can't thank them enough. I do not fill out many of these reviews but I am lucky to have them handling my business accounting so it was a must do.

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We must have a profile to better understand the client possible needs. Our clients should go to our website and fill out the tax questionnaire.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years experience in tax, audit and business related issues, I am also a certified Audit representative thru CCH.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
We have an hourly and a per job rate. We will have to see the details of the needed service needed in order to provide a range of cost.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started in 1995 after I left Deloitte & Touche. I wanted to start a personalized service for individuals and businesses needs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with individuals and businesses. I have a wide variety of businesses that I work on a monthly basis. I have restaurants, contractors, doctors, import export companies, truck drivers and many others.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A new client was audited by IRS because of the way his tax return had been filed. IRS was asking for over $12,000. IRS also was making wrong assumptions as to his specific case and why. This was an international client with above normal difficulties on a tax return. I was able to review the case, I became the client representative and was able to have the IRS reverse the entire $12,000 in tax they had assessed him. This took about six to seven months to complete.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First, feel comfortable with whomever you are dealing with. This individual should be a good listener to the details of the your situation in order to best help you. Find out how long they have been in business and if they have dealt with a similar situation like yours before.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
First have an idea of what you need and brain storm what you may want to accomplish. Once you have this started discuss it with the professional. The professional should understand what you are looking for and ask questions that may help you to figure out how to establish your project and how you want to proceed.
