Introduction: Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step towards seeking change. Listening to intuition and addressing what distresses you is a sign of strength. Providing a respectful, empathic, supportive, collaborative and confidential environment for all of my patients is a top priority and commitment. The relationship you and I develop and cultivate over time is key to facilitating progress and change. You are the expert in you. Let's work together to uncover your inner strengths and live your life reaching towards your fullest potential. Acknowledgment and change occur in relation to self-discovery and awareness. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of individual adults and couples. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, parenting issues, parent-child relationship issues, family conflicts, work/life balance, postpartum depression, perinatal mental health issues, OCD, body image issues, identity, cultural, sexuality issues and trauma. Since each patient is unique, I use an individually tailored, eclectic and flexible approach integrating techniques, from psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, motivational interviewing and relational orientations. I strive to facilitate a sense of self-awareness, personal growth, development and self-agency in an open, supportive and safe environment. Individuals can explore various uncovered aspects of themselves related to beliefs, attitudes, patterns of behavior and past experiences within the context of the therapeutic relationship. I would be happy to speak with you during a complimentary phone consultation. I do not accept insurance but if you have out of network benefits I will provide documentation for you to receive out of network reimbursement. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology from Montclair State University. I earned an additional Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus. I completed my doctoral internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY, and have also received training at Montefiore Medical Center, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) Psychological Services Section, Metropolitan Center for Mental Health, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Bronx Children's Psychiatric Center, South Beach Psychiatric Center: Heights Hill Adult Outpatient Clinic, and the Long Island University Psychological Services Center. I am also provisionally certified as an NYS School Psychologist and a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). My post-doctoral experiences include working as a pediatric and parental mental health psychologist in the Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) at Montefiore Medical Center and working as a police psychologist at the Psychological Services Section-Medical Division of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) conducting psychological evaluations of potential candidates for employment in civil service positions and providing on-call emergency evaluations for members of service following a crisis.
