FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Regarding drapery hardware I charge on the average $30 per window for installation. Since there are many styles and types of hardware, an exact price cannot be given of course. Regarding blinds and shades, the average cost is $12 to 14 ea. Vertical blinds are $8 per lineal ft up to nine feet in height. To measure windows guaranteed, is $60 on the average.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Introduce myself. Ask them to tell me about themselves. Share my experience. Produce comments from clients I've done work for. I inquire from the potential customer just what is it they expect from me. Then I make it known whether I can produce the work, and/or, am I willing to do the job at hand. Always friendly. Of course, if for some reason we do not agree upon the price, or I find that I can't do the work needed to be done, a trip charge would be in order. That could range anywhere from $30 to $60 dollars. After speaking with each other by phone regarding what the job entails, rarely would I not be able to give a quote before going out to job site.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the drapery and blind business for some 38 years full time. I have done work for public figures in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Beaumont and of course, in and around Houston. I've done work for both homes and offices and commercial.
