Introduction: I am an exhibiting artist with 10 years of experience teaching art and painting murals at various schools and universities. I'm not only a highly skilled painter, but also a very organized artist and a passionate educator. I spend a lot of time preparing my lessons and proposals to ensure that classes and murals are of extremely high quality. I always make sure that all projects are completed and of high caliber, and I'm very responsive to requests, suggestions and concerns. As someone who's been interested in education all my life, I'm constantly observing and looking for new ways to teach students according to their individual needs. I tend to push students to develop their skills, but also encourage themselves to find their own artistic voice. Art has the power of bringing a lot of joy through expression and invigoration. I like to share this joy with others through creating beautiful murals for others to experience, and through giving my students the tools to express themselves. Examples are when professors and students say how much my murals have brightened their experience of the campus building, and when students tell me how much they've learned through my lessons.

I had the pleasure to work with Ms Claire Lau on a mural painting project of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Ms Lau was creative, talented and resourceful. She was very independent but also interacted very well with faculty members, staff and students. The murals rose up the stairwell from the third to eighth floors in our school taking stair climbers on a visual journey around the globe. We were so pleased with the result that we invited Ms Lau back to adorn the walls of our basement which houses the School's training restaurant, wine lab and other food production labs. The project was challenging but hugely fulfilling and exciting. I would recommend Ms Lau for any endeavour she chooses to pursue and wish her every success in the future.

Claire Lau is an engaging, inspiring, and innovative artist, who is a joy to work with. Along with being a talented artist, her communication skills are keen, allowing her to be attentive to specific goals. Claire created colorful, dynamic sets for our musical and worked with students in an inspiring manner. The overall experience was outstanding!

Claire Lau was an inspiring teacher. She helped me to approach painting without worrying about being such a perfectionist right from the beginning. I learned to experiment more, and trust my instincts, rather than planning everything out. The results were often something I wouldn't have expected from myself, and something I felt I could be very proud of. Because of Ms. Lau I learned to trust my natural talent, as well as gain a stronger foundation for the basics. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Claire is a talented and passionate artist, and I really love her painting. Other than the basic skills for oil painting, she inspired me to observe things in different perspectives and be a risk taker to experiment more in my piece. And it was a very unforgettable experience with her and the others to complete a mural together in my last summer holiday before graduate. Even though it was quite tough but her enthusiasm always encouraged us to go further and further. I am highly recommended her as a teacher and the experience with her was great :)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My teaching prices are usually around $40/hour for private classes. Group lessons are cheaper. My murals range from anywhere from $30-$70 per square foot, depending on the size of the mural(s), position of mural, and level of detail.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually exchange a few emails to work out what you're looking for, what I can provide, when and where we can meet, and what the rates would be according to distance traveled and materials needed.
