FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We usually like to take jobs where all materials are provided and we get paid hourly and paid every Friday. If it is an insurance job or if you need us to supply the materials and labor, we can give a total estimated for the job. We do make our clients aware of the fact that giving an estimate, is just that. You never know what you can uncover during the specific job. That is where we like to work time or labor. That way the client is not mislead by a quote if something comes up that is not listed in the estimate. Make no mistake, even though we like to work based on our labor and the client provide materials, we will be happy to give a client an estimate if that is what they want. We will make sure the client is very well informed if we give them a quote. That way they are not blindsided if something comes up not covered in the estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we like to meet the new client so they can talk about or show us what they want done. It is very important to us that we are on the same page as the client. We make sure we understand and have the same vision of the end product as the client. We like to interact with the client as much as possible so they can come to trust us as we trust them. With a new customer we will go out of our way to make them feel at ease! We will do anything it takes or move our schedule around to meet a new client when they are available. We also like to show the customer pictures of past work we have done or talk to them about our knowledge and skill level important for the job they want done. We like to outline every step to the work being done so the client better understands what is going to happen and when it will happen. Finally, we like to take pride in the fact that we can give the client a lower quote without sacrificing the quality of work. Before any work begins we want to make sure the client trusts us to get the job done and is completely understanding of how things are going to be done. We like to think of the client as a friend and complete the job on budget and on time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Between the 2 of us, we have over 40 years of service in anything construction related. We do not have a specific specialty like some companies. We are both carpenters by trade, but we can do anything that has to do with building, remodeling, demolition, plumbing, minor electric, and painting to forming and pouring concrete and fixing or replacing old roofsof any kind. We are kind of a jack of all trades. We have done anything you can think of! We got all of our education and training by working in this field for 40 years between us.
