FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I develop a sense for a clients needs and an understanding for their price point. If the two do not match, I will explain and, when applicable, show them how and why they do not match. Through this sharing of specialized knowledge, you will understand the necessity for a shift in deliverable needs and/or the price point.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I like to listen to their needs first before interjecting any sort of financial, technical, or artistic constraints. I will often not submit a quote until I have spoken personally to a customer to fully understand what it is they are interested in capturing. By doing this I feel that a more beneficial relationship emerges for all parties. For most, the money is the bottom line. While video and photography prices may seem high at times, that is the nature of high quality work. However, my bottom line when acquiring a freelance job is to deliver a product to the customer that makes them happy to have spent the time working on it with me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master of Arts degree in video broadcast production and film theory and criticism. I have taught college classes in video production. I currently work for National Geographic Television on the networks number 1 rated television show.
