I hired Mr. Lewis despite him having zero reviews on Thumbtack. I guess I had it coming... I'd like to premise that I have zero knowledge about sprinkler systems so it may be an issue on my end.
Day 1 - He came out to see what the problem was and asked for X amount of dollars to complete the job. He seemed very confident about what the problem was so I hired him. Apparently there was a 'X' fee to come out that I was made aware of before (which I was not), but not a problem considering he drove all the way out.
Day 2 - He came by for a few hours and 'fixed' the solution, I paid him in cash (as was his preference) and we were done. As soon as he left I realized the problem wasn't fixed and he came back immediately which was awesome. However he couldn't fix it so he would have to come back another day.
Day 3 - He attempted to fix the sprinkler system again, but to no avail and he said he would have to come again, but this time he needed to be paid more. That's understandable since he's putting in a lot of time, but our agreement was the X amount of dollars for the job so I rejected the idea.
Day 4 - Doesn't show or call at the scheduled time so I gave him a call to see what happened. I'm still not quite sure what happened, but we scheduled another time for the next day.
Day 5 - Doesn't show or call again... and this time I couldn't get a hold of him. Now I'm trying to decide if I should continue to pursue his services or just give up and just take the loss.
Pros: Very flexible and was more than willing to work around my schedule. Fun guy to talk to along with his partner. I got to watch tv and do nothing for 5 days while waiting for the sprinkler system to be fixed.
Cons: Didn't finish the job and it doesn't seem like he's coming out to try and remedy the situation.
