- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been fortunate to accumulate real estate experience spanning from single-unit property management and leasing to large scale property investments and a staggering amount of new home sales. Through all of this experience I realized the industry was lacking a real estate company hyper-focused on people, not properties. That's how Lofty was born.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Competitive market analysis, coordinating maintenance, bookkeeping, leasing, rent collection, tenant screening, move-in and move-out walkthroughs, legal advice.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We manage a three unit property in downtown Chicago for one of our customers. The second floor unit was coming available but it was in need of some serious work. We developed an in-depth plan to redesign the unit to take it from a 4.5 bed 1 bath to a 4 bed 2.5 bath in order to make it more desirable for tenants. We utilized our extensive network of vendors and leveraged our buying power to keep the project well under budget. Prior to the project kicking off the owner was anticipating hopefully being able to acheive $1,600/month for this unit. With three weeks still left in construction we were able to secure $2,000/month for the unit, all while the floors were still being put in!
