MIM renovated our iconic mid century modern house and the result is stunning as Meir Manor and his crew brought this first owner neglected 1953 built jewel back to its original state, if not even beyond. MIM is a very reliable company and you will get a contractor who stands to his word, something that is rare in Los Angeles - and after scanning the market for a quite a while. We meet with several other contractors that had no idea how to tackle this demanding project. That said, my wife and I are very happy with MIM and the result - we LOVE our new house - and can highly recommend Meir and his team.

I have three bathrooms and a kitchen to remodel. Terrell from MIM contacted me. We discussed him remodeling the first bathroom which I had already gutted myself. He asked me to send pictures, and set a time for an estimate the next day. Within 5 minutes of hanging up he called me back and gave me a quote. He said he could start my bathroom remodel right away and finish in three days, but he still wanted to come by the next day to look at it. He seemed very anxious to get my business. The next morning he called to cancel stating he had an emergency (understandable - things happen), and he would come in the afternoon if he could. That afternoon he told me he could come the following day and we set another time. The next day came and I received a call from May with MIM saying that Terrell had another emergency and couldn't make it, but the general contractor would come instead and I should call her back to confirm. So I called her back, and said, "Yes, I planned on leaving work early and meeting someone at 3 pm. I will be there." She then said they would like to reschedule for the following day, and I said it wouldn't work for me. She said she would call the general contractor and get back to me. She called back to say he couldn't come today, but could come on Saturday or Sunday. Unfortunately, if they cancelled on me last minute two days in a row I don't feel confident in their ability to show up to perform the work.

Good afternoon Michelle, My name is May and I am the GM at MIM Construction Inc. I believe you spoke to my co worker and her name is Shiran because I just got back into the office from being out to lunch. I tried calling you, I would really appreciate if you would call me back so we can clear up any misunderstanding. I don't want me name to be presented in this way and I'd like to see if we can fix this. Thank you and have a great weekend :) May 747.900.6201

Short Review: Decent work. Terrible Communication. Delays and delays and delays. I would not recommend MIM to a friend. Detailed Review: I contacted MIM initially for a paint bid but they came in and told me about experience and license for floors and general contracting which I needed. I hired MIM in September 2015 for a kitchen demo. After reviewing their work, the experience and other bids, I hired MIM to do my entire kitchen renovation, painting, floor cleaning and other home improvement projects. The contract signed on September 21, 2015 stated 20 working days. MIM completed *most of the work* in January 2016. I say most of the work because among other things, they have not scheduled the final city inspection which I paid for as part of our contract. I have sent reminders since January. We did have a few change orders or additional work that added to the timeline such as updating the electrical panel but most of the delays were based on MIM's bad project management, lack of communication and broken promises. We had days and weeks where no one showed up, the wrong materials were used, and selected materials were not ordered until the last possible moment causing delays when they were not available. We gave MIM the detailed information for our backsplash tile and countertop selections the first time on September 27th. I re-sent him those same selections multiple times because he kept asking what they were. By the time he went to order these in November, the countertop was not in stock. We made an alternative selection since we were already really behind. He still had not ordered the backsplash tile which also turned out to be backordered. When it did arrive it was incomplete so more delays. I also had to pay extra for shipping this. In the middle of all this, Meir's team went to add in saltillo floor that was missing in the kitchen after the demo. Though I had repeatedly asked him about the tile floor replacement pieces which I had been looking for and could not find, he assured me that he had it. I came home to find that without my consent, his team installed 8" x 8" tile instead of the correct (and weird) 8.5" x 8.5" tile. Meir persuaded me that it wasn't a big deal but after a few days thinking about how much I hated it, we decided to rip out the tile and install new floors. We worked something out and he gave me a credit for this and related work while we hired someone else to do the floors already having been soured with him. As for the work itself, it is *mostly* pretty good. MIM installed the wrong gas valve in our laundry room so we had to replace it before our new dryer was installed. The glass subway tile in the kitchen is cracked in two spots and cut badly across the entire bottom where it meets the countertop but Meir never came to inspect it. The paint touch-ups were done with the wrong paint and I have glossy paint in spots throughout the downstairs that should have been matte. Despite being given the specs for the appliances in September, MIM did not install (and we did not think to ask for) any ventilation system in the kitchen. While there are windows in the kitchen, this is a huge disappointment for a new kitchen. The kitchen cabinets were not measured correctly and we had to mickey mouse a solution when the dishwasher would not open because it hit the cabinet door. The good things: The kitchen overall is beautiful. Initially, I found Meir charming and knowledgable as he addressed my many concerns in the beginning of the project. When confronted about the delays and several missed appointments, Meir turned out to be downright contemptuous. I believe that despite the delays and missteps this entire experience could have been improved by one simple thing - tell your client what you reasonably can and cannot do in a realistic timeframe. If you have a delay, communicate that upfront and manage your client expectations. The project still would have been late and messy but that kind of client management and professionalism could have salvaged the relationship. I only have guesses about the failures of MIM's side but here they go. Maybe he under-budgeted the project? I have been told that despite coming in over budget, I got a good price for the work. Maybe MIM had too much work from other, bigger clients? They were working on a hotel. Maybe I asked too many questions and annoyed him? Maybe I didn't ask enough questions and I should have been my own project mgr? I can't say for certain because even now, MIM is not following through. In an email on March 4, Meir says "Next week we will return the door to your home and will schedule for an inspection and will let you know." Today is March 15 and I have not heard back nor do I expect to. Overall experience was painful and very disappointing.

Called for an estimate. They asked me when, I said I was flexible. They offered Saturday. I received a call from May the receptionist that day asking to move it to Sunday. I agreed, and they never showed.
