Great fit with our needs!Jul 14, 2016Verified
I have known Melissa a long time and she is one of the best therapists that I have worked with. She is patient, understanding, and is a great listener. Melissa is highly skilled and has been able to help me work through a variety of issues. She has a clear passion for her career and truly cares about each of her clients. If you are looking for a therapist, look no further. I absolutely recommend giving her a call!Aug 27, 2015
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically charge $120 for individuals for the 50 minute session, and $150 for couples for the 50 minute session. I do offer a sliding scale should pricing be a concern.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically, I speak with new clients over the phone to make sure that I am a good match for the person and/or couple. I provide details as to what type of work I provide, fees, and overall resources and goals that we can work together towards in meeting what you are looking for in a therapist. If I believe I am not a good fit for what you are looking for at this time, I am more than happy to provide referrals to colleagues that I trust and respect.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Health Emphasis from Santa Clara University. Post-graduation, I have attended numerous trainings on sexual health where I am currently in the process of receiving my sex educator and sexologist certifications from The Institute of Advanced Study of Human Sexuality located in San Francisco, CA. Additionally, I have training in couples work through the Gottman Institute, stress management/mindfulness training, grief and loss training, as well as hypnosis and my 60 hour domestic violence training. I am expected to receive my AASECT sex certification (the only place to get certified in the nation as a sex therapist) 2017/2018- I am currently working on my remaining supervision hours with a AASECT supervisor. I also will be starting a Ph.D. at CIIS, located in San Francisco, in Human Sexuality beginning August 2016.
