Introduction: As an AASECT Certified sex therapist, Melissa Rissoprovides individual and couples therapy that is tailored to fit your needs, versus applying a "one size fits all" approach. I can say with great confidence that you are not alone in your challenges, and that you don't have to carry your burden by yourself. With patience and persistence, my clients cultivate greater confidence and self-esteem, richer relationships, and more emotional balance and health. I believe that we all need someone to talk with who will listen and accept us as we are, without judgment. Because of this, I provide my clients with a warm, nonjudgmental environment- a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing you from living the life you want. My focuses include sex therapy and couples work, specifically having extensive training- I am a Certified Sex Therapist with more than 700+ hours of training in various sexual health topics, have completed training in Gottman Therapy, a One Love Facilitator, completed the 60+ CA Domestic Violence training, and currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Human Sexuality at CIIS in San Francisco where I have been voted as the San Francisco Bay Area AASECT leader for 8 years in a row. I also see individuals and couples for non-sexual topics including improving communication, anxiety, depression, career changes, life stressors, and more!
