FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Establishing pricing for dog grooming is difficult for a few reasons...all dogs are different in size, hair type, demeanor, and condition of the coat and skin. And we don't know their current state of being until they arrive and the groomer can assess the situation. Any price adjustment typically isn't welcomed by the parent so a thorough explanation must follow. Clients who bring their babies in every week deserve to pay less than twice-a-year clients. Just because the shelter said that the dog is a Beagle Mix, time has shown that in fact there is some curly haired DNA present and the grooming session will take longer than a typical Beagle, which was the way it was booked and priced originally. Yes, pricing can be tricky.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Streeterville needed a place for pet parents to bring their dogs to be groomed. As well, there was not a place to purchase healthy food and treats. We also wanted to prove that a grooming business can be successful doing things the right way.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Aside from expert grooming, City Pets offers daycare for small dogs, in home pet sitting, dog walking and an amazing wholesale club whereby members can order all of their pet's food and supplies at our cost! See our website for more details.
