Introduction: I've been a composer for 27 years and have completed 21 movies and several commercials. I know the business well. I am comfortable with producing and editing. I compose original scores for films as well as supervise inexperienced interns who desire to learn. I give master classes in composing film music at several universities worldwide, and I am a judge at six international film festivals, and four of them are in the USA. My music has won awards -- best picture, best music editing, and best film score at several festivals both here and in Europe and Russia.festivals. My CDs are sold on amazon.com, and I have eight CDs that are of film scores. Each is different, and all have complete orchestrations and choral work as well. I am classically trained, but I feel comfortable working with any genre. I attended Dartmouth, Harvard and Oxford University and have been fortunate and blessed to have had excellent mentors and professors with whom I studied privately. I love working with people and can work independently or on a team, and I really enjoy working with an enthusiastic team. I seem to be consistent with problem-solving by making sure that a solution-based result occurs. I am an over 25-year ASCAP member and belong to IFP/NY, Sundance Patron Circle (16 years), MAfTa, Conductors Guild, Sundance Institute member, and Sundance Women's Initiative member. iMDB lists most of my films, but it is being updated currently. I would welcome working with filmmakers and also for companies who need excellent quality in their commercials that their customers like. I will not do work with any pornographic content or with works that promote excessive anti-women themes. I will not do any work that uses children in any compromising manner whatsoever. I am fine with R rated films if there is not excessive gratuitous torture, rape, murder, and brutality. I find film that have excessive X rated language cheap and believe that they lack the necessary creativity to deliver their stories competently. Swear words are fine, but I don't want to support vulgar works that purport language that is meant to seem cool and derogatory to the point of disgust. I would do films of a documentary genre that demonstrate the cruelties that mankind can create if the doc is about subjects that need to be revealed even if there is disgust and hideous language. I use judgment about these matters and have always been able to work with directors who know where the fine line is and when to cross it for the correct reasons. I have always met my deadlines, and often, I have come in before deadline. I am focused and detail-oriented, wanting to produce the excellence in the final cut. I have a big sense of humor, and without it, I would find life completely miserable! I love to work with humor and value others who understand the crucial need for it, especially when difficult or volatile subject matter is in the mix. I am a good proofreader. I have written a film column for a major newspaper and was once an art director for a magazine and wrote about the arts (dance, music, opera, ballet, symphonies, etc). Getting along with others is a priority, and I would like to work with people who have vision and creative minds.Work is fun and focused, and I am able to work extremely long days when necessary, and I endure to the end. The films I have composed original scores for have been in festivals around the world from Jaipur, India and Lisbon, Portugal to Missoula, Montana and Denver, Colorado. I travel with my work on location when working on a movie, so that I can mirror the director's point of view best. I like to blend in with the cast and crew, so that the end result is a shared accomplishment. Teamwork is essential, and I like being part of a good team, even if there is a difficult person on that team. I've learned that there's usually one on every team, so that's life! Work with it! Lessons are learned, and I am stronger because of relying upon solution-based results. It takes a team or a village, maybe, a community or a country, too. Mindfulness is critical to success, and I am comfortable in my own human skin with all of my shortcomings that I work on to improve communications and to be a contributor to good work. I am a giver, not a taker. I enjoy what I have earned and enjoy that others have the same delight in the work, too. That's a big plus for me -- when everyone is happy with the end result, not just me.
