FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I like to do is get a feel for how the client feels about writing in general. We then talk a bit about their experience with consultants and how they feel about the project. I review the guidelines for the work and then develop a mutual plan for how we should move forward. This helps because we're able to plan for areas that seem overwhelming and work through them together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been involved in writing for quite a while. I've got a few things going for me that make me an excellent choice as support for your writing project. I've spent one year as a writing consultant for a CRLA Certified University Writing Center. This means I adhere to a high standard of professionalism, training, and session awareness. I also have experience teaching university level composition classes, college preparatory writing, business writing workshops, and one-on-one creative consultations. In addition to this, I am completing my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Publication Arts at the University of Baltimore.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've had the opportunity to work with all kinds of people. I currently work with a large collegiate population. However, this population has a wide age range (18-50+), and is pretty diverse in it's needs and abilities. I have an undergraduate degree in Business which allows me to aid those looking for business documents. I worked as a Writer in Residence for a small non-profit. This job included business writing workshops, drafting missions statements and other important documents. I most enjoy working with creative writers and other artists as a developmental support/editor. I also find it hard to turn down grade school students looking for support.
