FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
materials plus labor. Real simple formula. Only variable is how many workers needed on the project. Also, changes. Scope of work is the scope of work. Folks, even good folks will try to get you to do a lot of things that weren't in the scope of work. Some even get offended when you bring a change order for them to sign.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been in business to executive management. I have been a carpenter. A carpenter knows bad wood when he looks at it. It is not always so in business. I despise corruption and deception as much as I do bad wood. Its just easier to tell the difference in time to save the outcome when you're dealing with wood.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There are many providers. Price is important. Don't get taken to the cleaners by overpriced contractors or price cutting vagabonds either. A good man will look you in the eye, shake your hand and mean it, and do your work as if it were his own. Look for that guy if you can find him.
