Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I can't speak for others and won't say I am better than they are. I can only say I am very dependable about doing what I am supposed to, I really care for animals and understand them (and don't expect them to be more than they are), and I have always been very honest and ethical in my dealing with people. Owners would not have to worry about whether I did what I said I would do (I would) or if I am stealing from them (I'm not!). I also do go through certain security precautions - I keep keys in a locked key cabinet, but don't keep client personal information out where someone could get to it. I have always been an animal lover. Pet sitting allows me to interact with a lot of different animals. I just really enjoy siting down with and playing with them or just watching them go about their usual antics.

John is very flexible with our schedule and has even been available last minute, which lets face it, life happens. We know our pup (more like a retiree at 11 years of age, but a pup at heart) is always in good hands and that is worth every penny!! :-)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The pricing isn't complicated. It is mostly based on the time needed for a particular visit. I start with a base fee of $15 for a 30 minute visit, but with the travel time to and from the owners' house, that really means $15 for 50-60 minutes of time. Shorter visits are less, longer visits are more, depending on what the owners want. There are some extra small fees for giving meds, or for caring for several pets, but those are gone through with the owners before assignments are finalized.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taken one online course on pet sitting, I have read three books on it, and I am currently going through a manual for pet sitting certification through Pet Sitters International.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

On the one hand, I had been dissatisfied with the work I had been doing. I also found myself in need of more income. Some people who knew of my love of animals and who had used pet sitters before said they thought that kind of work would be a perfect match for me.
