Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a wardrobe consultant, personal shopper, and boutique owner. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in apparel merchandising and design. Personal Couture has two parts: the wardrobe consulting and personal shopping service and the boutique portion. I work with clients of all ages and professions to find the perfect look for their personalities, preferences, budgets, and lifestyles! I offer several services including the following: * In-Home Closet Consulting During this session, I come to your home, conduct an education session to help you learn the correct colors, cuts, and silhouettes for your body type, help you weed through your closet, create piles to keep, discard/donate, and alter and compile a wardrobe plan with a personalized shopping list. This service is a great place to start your wardrobe makeover! * Personal Shopping I meet you at the store/s of your choice and act as your personal shopper. I will go to the store ahead of time and pick out pieces that you are looking for, so that they will be ready and waiting for you when your appointment begins! When you arrive at your appointment, there will be a bottled water and a special treat in your dressing room to start your session off right! I do all the footwork, and you just get to enjoy yourself in the dressing room and have fun as you update your wardrobe or find the perfect look for a special event! Whether you are looking for a stylist to "revamp" your entire wardrobe or to style you for a special event, such as a wedding or family portrait, I would love to meet you!

I called Lois Ann after seeing an ad in the paper. I had been looking for someone to help me with my clothes for some time. We spoke on the phone and then she came to my house to go through my closet. She was amazing! We went through everything and made 3 piles - give away, alter and keep. All my clothes were terrible, but she never said that! She is so diplomatic and never makes you feel badly. After we cleaned out my closet we went shopping together. After a couple of trips I felt much more confident picking things out on my own. That was almost 2 years ago. I still call her for advice and to help me put outfits together. Her store is fabulous too. She has not only helped me but also my teenage daughter. You will love her!

I have worked with Lois Ann for about three years. My favorite service that Lois Ann provided for me was spending a day in my closet and going through each item of clothing piece by piece (I'm not kidding!) and asking "do you wear it, do you love it?" If the answer was "NO", we donated it. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life. And to top that off, I had pieces that I LOVED but had no idea what to wear them with -- she fixed that with just one simple suggestion! She is incredibly awesome to work with. If I'm ever in a wardrobe pinch, I can call her and she will be right there to help out. I could go on and on about how helpful she has been with my wardrobe over the past few years. She is definitely on my "Must Have" List !

Lois Ann gave me a wardrobe make-over. Anxious to update and purge my closet, I hired Lois Ann to help me decide what works and what doesn't . She is a clothing artist in a way; keeping up with trends and styles. After deciding what to keep, we went shopping to fill in the gaps and made a list of what to shop for on my own. She also put together a photo "Style Guide" to give me quick help when I want to pull an outfit together. L.A. has used wise marketing to keep her customers informed of what's new in the Boutique. It's a fun, fresh place to shop or just stop by for a visit !

I am a professional, boutique photographer here in Huntsville, AL. Lois Ann has helped my clients look AND feel their best by offering her fabulous services to our clients for their photography session. The images are more put-together and polished. We are grateful for Lois Ann.

I first met Lois Ann through a fb give away. That was the beginning of the love for her store. I then hired her to clean out and purge my closet. What a refreshing experience. She helped me get rid of a lot of unnecessary items, then helped put outfits together. I can't say enough wonderful things about her as a person and a fashion consultant. She can accessorize an outfit better than I have ever seen. What a talent she has!! Love her!!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

My most common job is closet consulting. This is just such a great place to start because I am able to become familiar with a client's current style, the items they already own, their price range, their likes and dislikes, etc. Some clients book closet consulting on a seasonal basis and some book every time they make new purchases so that I can put together new outfits for them and take pictures to add to their look books so that they can remember what I have done! The 2nd most common is Personal Shopping. Some clients prefer that I meet them at the stores of their choice and they shop alongside me. Other clients prefer I pick-up items for them and bring them to their home. Each service can be tailored to the client's preferences and schedules. The 3rd most common is outfit coordination for photo shoots such as family photos, engagement photos, or advertising headshots.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I urge clients to have a consultation with a stylist before they begin booking an appointment. I always insist on this with my potential clients. This can either be by phone or by appointment at my boutique. Wardrobe consulting is such a personal investment that it is very important that clients feel like their personalities will work well with mine, enjoy being around me, and feel comfortable taking my advice and working one on one with me. Also, don't be shy about asking questions regarding how long the stylist thinks your new wardrobe will take. And budget is always important, don't hesitate to discuss the monetary commitment you are potentially making. You are in a sense "making a purchase" and you need to feel very confident about your choice because this person will be helping design what friends, colleagues, family members, etc. will be seeing of you on the outside!
