FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Filing electronically will indicate what the payor allows for services rendered. Clients without insurance benefits can speak to the therapist and a comfortable cash agreement will be formulated. Employee Assistance Programs are accepted without any fee whatever.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first visit will provide a quiet, safe environment where I will receive a basic history and learn what issues brought a person here. A gentle focus on his/her health, family, work, leisure, and specific, current difficulties. Some framework will be established concerning some of the cause and effect, reasons may be submitted to promote a deeper understanding of how and why the Client is experiencing distress can be helpful. Staying in the reality of life, and our part in it, can help a person realize their part in real events, and bring some sense of mastery and personal choice, rather than remain in distress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is required for state licensure. Since the topics related to counseling such as Psychopharmacology, Physiology, Psychology, Physics, Ethics, Neurology, Criminology, are of great interest, reading and study are a continuous pursuit. Seminars, and professional journals provide new studies, and information helpful in private practice.
