As one friend put it to me awhile ago “pearls before swine”. This is how I would describe I Liq Chuan. This internal martial art is what I feel embodies the “secrets” of martial power and strength. It is unlike any other martial art I have experienced and I have experienced a lot ranging from combatives to aikido, to jujutsu to judo. This martial art helps one to focus on what’s going on inside you: proper mental state, structure, balance, relaxation and much, much more. The curriculum is simple, but has so much depth to it. It’s fantastic for health and self-defense. Sifu Ashe Higgs is a talented instructor and friend who I find to be very, very skilled, patient and generous with his knowledge. He is one of the best I Liq Chuan instructors in the system and is a personal disciple of Sam Chin, another fantastic teacher. If you want to experience a martial art that goes beyond kata and accumulating techniques, that expands your mind and martial abilities – this art is one to explore.

Brad is an amazing coach. Very supportive and encouraging. I always thought running wasn't for me and I could not do it. He showed me I was wrong. I have done 5K runs and look forward to many more. I have also taken his self defense class, which was awesome. I came away with knowledge and the feeling I could protect myself if I had to. I would take another class of his in a heartbeat. Going to miss having him close, but I know if i have questions or successes he will be there to help and chear me on. Thank you Brad. Tanya

I spent six years training in two different martial arts/self-defense systems. Both systems were oriented around fighting and I spent years banging the pads, sparring in unrealistic rules based sessions and training for limited corner case scenarios. Being in my mid 40's and wanting more in the way of self-defense and less force on force combat, I began to search for something new, something that was 100% self-defense oriented and extremely effective. Well that search is over, I began training at Budo Shingikan in the art of Bushin Ryu Aikai Bujutsu in May of 2013 and have not looked back. You train in a manner that teaches you to blend with your attacker while putting them in a position of disadvantage so you can perform techniques designed to stop the attack. As you progress, you learn that all techniques provide what I would call "levels of pain inducing options" based on the resistance and determination of an attacker. This is the real deal for true self-defense, no MMA here, no ego fights, just traditional Japanese training. You will find an atmosphere of mutual respect where students of all levels help each other with technique and rank advancement criteria. Sensei D’Antonoli is an incredible leader and teacher, you will be hard pressed to find another individual who's as dedicated to not only the martial aspects of training, but the philosophical and intellectual aspects that prepare your mind as much as your body.

Just a few short years ago, Tim got me in the best shape I'd been in since my 20's, may be the best shape ever. I was lean and strong. Unfortunately, I was laid off in 2008 and quit going to Rock Solid Fitness. Though I've been to the gym, I gained 23 pounds--a lot for me. Needless to say, I've called Tim and back on track to return to my lean and mean self. Training with Rock Solid Fitness is definitely worth it!

I joined Xavier’s Saturday Morning Get Your Body Moving Boot Camp in October 2014, thanks to an invite from a friend. I was looking for something that would actually motivate & push me harder then I push myself. It was such a great deal, I couldn’t pass it up and I am so glad I joined. Xavier not only pushes you physically, he offers motivational support. When my son was struggling with school, Xavier was able to help him work through his stress by encouraging him physically and emotionally. He pushed my son to his potential but also sat down with him to get to know him as an individual. I appreciate the fact that Xavier goes the extra mile to show he cares about each person, by recognizing & understanding their own personal struggles. Not only does he offer boot camp and personal training, he provides many other options to help support you in your goal of getting and staying healthy, such as life coaching, healthy eating options & habits, stretching, meditation, group training, self defense...whatever you might be looking for, he has the tools to help. He makes his workouts fun and tailored just right. If you are looking for a fun, supportive environment to workout in, Xavier is who I recommend!

Training under Jay Pages has helped me achieve many goals I had set for myself in a very short time. These goals were lofty to say the least, but with his help I not only lost weight and gained strength, but I was able to improve my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game so much that I've won a gold, silver, and bronze medal in my second and third tournaments ever! Jay can turn your lump of coal into a diamond! Thanks Jay!

This course is extremely informative and useful. Although I am female, and this course is most helpful to females, it is also full of tips, tricks and strategies men can use as well. The physical portion is easily adapted to the learners abilities, existing skill and knowledge level and does not require strength or previous martial arts experience. The moves are easy for anyone to learn and to utilize regardless of size or strength or skill level. Sensei is very good at teaching this information and very good at identifying strengths and weaknesses and helping the student overcome the weaknesses to better deliver the self defense moves. I have had previous martial arts instruction and feel that this instructor is very suited to that role and also very knowledgeable about the subject matter. I highly recommend this course and this instructor

    About

We offer classes in personal protection, self-defense, and defensive tactics. Combat Hapkido is an extremely realistic and versatile discipline of self-protection that includes an extensive variety of strikes, kicks, joint locks, pressure points, ground survival, and weapon disarming techniques. The result is a practical, comprehensive self-defense system that is enjoyable to learn and produces effective results in realistic situations. Combat Hapkido's dynamic concepts are based on the scientific principles of anatomy and biokinetics, as well as psychology and strategy. It is well suited for men and women of all ages and sizes because physical strength and athletic abilities are not essential. The emphasis is on redirecting the assailants' aggression and power back toward them with a little effort and a minimum force on your part. Combat Hapkido is ideal for those individuals who do not have the time, desire or ability to commit themselves to the demanding study of a traditional martial art.
