About
I’m a bilingual educator with a degree in Education and many years of teaching experience with both children and adults. I’ve taught children with developmental delays as well as young adults, and I can teach ESL and Spanish tutoring. I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, supported, and successful while learning a new language at their own pace. I currently offer weekend tutoring sessions and work best with students who are looking for one consistent session per week. I prefer long-term students who want to build confidence and real language skills over time in a supportive, structured environment.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in Education. I worked as a teacher for children with developmental delays from 1995 to 2000, and later taught young adults between 2020 and 2023.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    children and young adults

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

One of my favorite recent projects was teaching English to young adults from Guatemala in a group online setting. Classes met once a week, and I taught three separate groups, each for one year. The focus was on practical, conversational English for the workplace. By the end of the program, students were able to communicate fluently and confidently, and many went on to secure jobs at call centers where English was required. It was especially rewarding to see their progress and the real-life impact language skills had on their opportunities.
