After years of headache trying to handle my child support case myself, I finally decided to go with an attorney. The research was tiring. After weeks of research, I found My AZ layers online. I had a consult with Giancarlo Sapelli in November of 2015. We talked, shook hands, and he began working on my case (child support/arrears). It was a complicated, multi-state case. Giancarlo, Jamie, and , Amanda were fantastic at keeping me informed and updated about where things were and moving forward. In October 2016 I had my hearing. The verdict? The judge had absolved me of any and all child support and arrears ($990 per month [from both jobs] and $165,000 in arrears)! I could not have hoped for better. Giancarlo Sapelli and My AZ layers (http://myazlawyers.com/) have helped me get my life back on track after 18 years!
I had the pleasure of working with Stuart on my child custody case. He was wonderful. Very professional, responsive, always quick to respond. He was great in court and has even been available to help me out with a few questions after the case was paid for and finished. Definitely recommend him for any family law needs.
Nikki helped me connect with Kevin and he recently helped me through a divorce, child support and custody case. He walked me through the entire process. He informed me of all of my options and took the time to walk me through the pros and the cons of each. I felt very confident with him and see that he knows the Arizona divorce legal process very well. In addition, she was understanding and caring of my situation. I felt very confident with Kevin by my side and I would highly recommend his if you find yourself needing a divorce attorney. Thank you Kevin!
When thinking of needing a lawyer the process can seem daunting. At least it was in my case, I had a husband who wouldn't divorce me, wouldn't pay child support and was an all around bully. Billie and Kylie took my case and completely handled the entire situation. They defended my almost three year old son and fought for his rights. A champion is defined as this: a person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else. Kylie was my son and I's champion, she stayed classy, organized and made sure that the law was upheld. Kylie took any kind of feed back or concern and faced it head on. They gave me realistic expectation's but when trial came Kylie was nothing less than awesome. The dictionary defines superlative: of the highest quality or degree: a superlative piece of skill. That is what I would say about the Modern Law Team, Billie, and Kylie. The highest quality, Surpassing all else. Now, sadly my case will probably continue until my son is 18 which is 15 short years away, but I am confident that I have found the highest quality team to continue to navigate this case.
I recently had to use a lawyer for a child support matter. From the moment that I spoke to Adam Weingart I knew that I had found the right guy for the situation. His personality, professionalism, and punctual nature made my difficult situation much easier for me and my family. I would recommend Adam to anybody if you have a difficult family matter to deal with. Thank you again Adam for your help.
I hired Calah Thomas in 2011 for Custody issues as well as filling a modification in Child Support. She went over and beyond my expectations. What makes my case even a bit harder is I reside in Illinois now. Since my divorce etc we're done in Maricopa this is where all the fillings had to be done. Calah made sure that my travel was limited, so being able to call into the courtroom with the Judge during hearings made it so much easier. But her overwhelming dedication to her work definitely shined through. I would absolutely hire her again for any legal needs I required!
Potter Law Firm represented me in a complicated child support case. Trail Potter and his firm took the time to be supportive, and gave me insightful advice. I had excellent communication with him throughout the entire court case. His fees were reasonable, and he was mindful of my financial situation (I qualified for the modest means project). In the courtroom he was tactful, ethical and precise. He fought hard for me. I feel very fortunate to have had Trail represent me. He has changed my negative outlook about attorneys. There are still great attorneys out there, and he is one of them. I highly recommend Potter Law Firm.
I just want everyone to know Judd Nemiro is the best attorney I've ever had. I was in a child custody case and Judd did exactly what he said he would. I've had a few lawyers in my life take my money and did not fulfill what they had promised. I would highly recommend Judd Nemiro to my friends and family without hesitation. If you want a good lawyer this is your guy.
Kerrie Droban is an incredibly knowledgeable, systematic and tenacious attorney that I highly recommend. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years regarding my child support/custody battles, and she never lost any of my cases when she represented me. Her no nonsense approach while applying the laws of our legal system is both efficient and accurate at all times; not to mention, she has a unique calming way of taking the stress and worry away before, during and after the process of litigation. I highly recommend Kerrie Droban to anyone who needs to hire an attorney for any of the legal areas that she practices. You will not be disappointed!
I hired Steve to represent me as a client who lives out of state. I was not receiving child support for 3 children and struggling to make ends meet. It was a battle I wasn't sure I would win. I was skeptical at first having to trust someone I had not met in person yet representing the most important parts of my life. Steve worked hard to seek the best possible solution at all times. In the end, he exceeded what I thought was possible. I will always be thankful that he worked with me and brought a new version of justice I had never experienced in my divorce. I would highly recommend his services!!
From my first conversation with Jacque, I felt comfortable with her. Her compassion and empathy to my situation was evident from the beginning and her coaching/mentoring style fit with my personality. She was thorough and walked me through the process of filing for Chapter 13 and was great about providing options and various scenarios of what could happen. She helped me prepare for a very scary event in my life and I couldn't has asked for a better lawyer. Her knowledge of bankruptcy law and guidance was excellent. Jacque helped me be very prepared for my creditors meeting and provided me the support I needed to file for bankruptcy and always encouraged me that it will be fine and it was. Its the start of recovery from financial gloom and glad she was there for me. I know the next 5 years will be hard while I recover from this bankruptcy but glad to know she is there for me when I need her expertise and guidance, as well a little cheering up now and then!
Mr Nirenstein and his firm spent a year on my case battling an uncooperative petitioner and her attorney on a very unique child support case. Mr Nirensteins team walked me through an ordeal that could've been extremely ugly, knowing exactly what the other sides counsel was up to and advising me even before the other side had acted! It was like playing a chess game where they knew the opponents next 3 moves before he did! Their knowledge of Arizona law was immense, being a new Yorker myself impressed my NY counsel greatly. In the end it was like having A-rod on your company softball team. His firm walked me through a sticky issue with the utmost professionalism and personal attention. The outcome was extremely close to what his firm predicted and was much better then I expected all along. I got my money's worth and then some and also made a close friend that if in town would certainly stop to buy lunch for. Very impressive from start to finish, and was never more than an email or phone call away when needed.
R.E. went above and beyond every imaginable expectation I had in a child custody case. At every step of the process she helped me both in the court room, and with the emotional side of the whole issue. Time and time again my son was her focus. She is beyond amazing. I'd never consider hiring anyone else. if I win the lottery I'd buy her a yacht. She is truly an amazing person, woman, friend and lawyer. I could not ask for more.
I was divorced from my Ex-wife for several. She had an attorney and I did not. Initially she got custody of our children even though they all wanted to be with me. Eight years after the final decree I hired Jordan LLC and she was able to modify my custody giving me custody and stopping all child and spousal support. In fact, she had my Ex paying me child support. I found Jordan Law LLC very helpful, knowledgeable, and tenacious. I would not hesitate to hire her again.
I've had the pleasure of retaining Hall Underwood twice (originally only for temporary orders, then again for the rest of my divorce). Words really cannot express how grateful I am for all the effort Jay and Emi put in to my case, because everything I've been fighting for over the past year (my kids and their future), they fought just as hard for them on their end as counsel. Emi represented me through the first part of my divorce for temporary orders at Hall Underwood. She did a wonderful job thoroughly and patiently answering every single one of my questions and didn't hesitate to further explain her answers if I didn't fully understand her response. It is clear having had the pleasure of being represented by her that Emi has a profound passion for law which garners great respect from her colleagues and the Court. She appeared on my behalf at a Resolution Management Conference and masterfully guided the direction of the entire hearing in our favor in a graceful and professional manner, securing much needed orders that, ultimately, later lead to the opposing party being forced to settle the entire divorce on our terms. The pleadings she drafted in my case were elegantly worded and flowed flawlessly through each paragraph, on par with what you would expect to see in the highest courts in the land. After the temporary orders matter settled, I ended up retaining Jay and Emi again a few months later after unsuccessfully trying to settle the rest of the issues. Opposing counsel was extremely dodgy and refused to provide mandatory discovery for months even after I retained them. They were calm and professional dealing with my ex's unreasonably difficult attorney and eventually forced them to hand over everything we needed. The most impressive part of Jay's performance was that he noticed a subtle, yet significant defect in the wording of the proposed parenting plan we received and capitalized on it, which allowed me to place the children in any school in the valley with zero restrictions and ultimately place them in the best school possible (one of the things that is EXTREMELY important to me). Needless to say, my ex wasn't very happy about that, and her attorney fought pretty hard to try to save face in the wake of his devastating blunder. He tried to back out of the agreements that we had made that were not yet binding, tried to conduct an untimely noticed and frivolous deposition, tried to make misleading arguments so I'd be the one to have to pay child support, tried rearrange the parenting time schedule, and continually threatend an award of attorney's fees if we didn't give in to his demands. Naturally, Jay knew it was all just an act and called his bluff. Eventually, after all the discovery was completed, Jay gave him an ultimatum. Either this case settles, or we go to trial and we'll almost certainly collect an award of attorney's fees from having to enforce the parenting plan we agreed to (which was binding pursuant to Rule 69). Needless to say, they chose the former. I really couldn't be happier with the results of my case. Not only did I get almost exactly what I wanted out of my divorce, but also my fees for the entire case were only about one-third (1/3) of what my ex paid for her attorney (hers was hourly), who has been practicing for over 30 years, and we still came out slightly ahead. I think that speaks to how amazing Jay and Emi are in their profession. Having dealt with a dozen or so other attorneys in my divorce, Hall Underwood is the only law firm I'll ever recommend to family and friends.
