L Young String Studio (AZ and virtual lessons)

*Located in Mesa, AZ. Lessons offered virtually for all other locations*! Hello! My name is Lisa and I have a passion for teaching adults and children alike to play string instruments (violin, viola, cello, uke). I am available to teach lessons both virtually and in the Mesa, AZ area. Educational background: B.S. in Music Education K12 from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania M.S. in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania While I do enjoy performing, my expertise and experience are predominantly in teaching- both in public schools and private instruction. I have taught in public education in two different states over the past 10 years and have been working with students individually and in small groups as part of my studio for 13 years. I have been playing cello for 24 years including participating in symphonies, recording and touring with a Baltimore band, performing for weddings, and playing cover songs in public venues; I adore the versatility that the cello has to offer. I love working with students of all ages to achieve their musical goals (whatever they may be!), ensure comfort when practicing, and foster a love for cello music. It is in my personal passion to work in this field with individuals from all ability levels and walks of life in addition to providing an enjoyable and educational experience that is tailor-fit to each student's unique needs. Students have access to weekly newsletters to expand their knowledge in music and any technology we may be using, are provided the opportunity to collaborate and make music with others through recording software, and will receive guidance and feedback on how to set musical goals, self assess & problem solve, and create a practice regiment without getting bored or burning out.
