During the COVID years, I was working 16–18 hour days in the hospital, and the one thing I never had to worry about was my dog, Slate. He is a reactive rescue German Shepherd, and entrusting him to someone required a rare level of skill, patience, and judgment.
James exceeded every expectation. He didn’t simply care for Slate—he built a relationship with him. Slate trusted him completely, and it was clear James treated him as if he were his own. He was consistently reliable, thoughtful, and attentive, and he stepped in without hesitation whenever unexpected situations arose. Knowing Slate was safe, understood, and genuinely cared for gave me invaluable peace of mind during one of the most demanding periods of my life.
Since relocating, I have yet to find anyone who matches James’s professionalism, compassion, and dedication. If you are looking for someone who will care for your dog with the same level of commitment and love that you would, I cannot recommend James highly enough. He is truly exceptional. James is truly exceptional, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the moment he stays at my home to care for my pup, Sparky, I have complete peace of mind. He is incredibly caring, dependable, and treats my boy as if he were his own.
James is an excellent communicator and keeps me updated, which makes being away so much easier. He is especially attentive to details, including making sure all of Sparky’s medications are given on time and exactly as prescribed—something that means the world to me.
He has been watching my dogs for years, and his consistency, kindness, and reliability have never wavered. My dogs are always happy, relaxed, and well cared for when he’s here, and I never have to worry about a thing. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy and genuinely invested in the well-being of your pets, and James is truly one of a kind.

James has been sitting for our dog and 3 cats for a few years now and we couldn't be happier work hours work. He is responsible, responsive, and our pets love him. He also stays with them throughout the day and night and sends pictures every day. We always feel very comfortable with having him at the house when we are away. We wouldn't want to hire anyone else.

Such a friendly and trustworthy dog walker! You can always count on Jim to get right back to you to let you know if he's available. He truly cares about animals and his easy going demeanor is great around dogs. He shows up on time and sends you messages with updates while you're away.

We have been happily using James for the last 5 years to pet-sit for our dogs. James is a true professional, and we have peace of mind when we leave our dogs in his care. He cares about our dogs and gives them a lot of love and attention. He knows each of their little personalities and how to connect with them and keep them happy! (He even won over my brother's border collie when my brother used him, and my brother's dog is super skittish) He gives us daily updates, which we appreciate. He follows our instructions to a T, which also gives us peace of mind. He's very responsive, whether we're booking him or checking on availability or checking in on something else. We've always had great communication with him. We readily refer him to others in need of a pet sitter, and they've all been just as happy as us with James. It's not unusual for us to check James's schedule first before booking a trip so we can have him watching our dogs and enjoy that peace of mind he gives us. He is a super responsible pet sitter, and treats our dogs like his own. We highly recommend him!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm fairly priced for a 30 minute walk/visit and $50 for a overnight stay per day.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is setting up a meet and greet to see how the pet reacts to me. They usually sense I love animals and so approach me. I'm available to answer any questions even after the meet and greet. I send updates and pictures.
