FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We try to work out a fixed cost on larger projects so that there is an agreed upon price and expectation. Hourly rate is $250/hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The majority of projects that we do are websites, so I'll go over a typical process for that here. First, we'll invite you to our project management suite where you'll be able to get a birds eye view of our progress, and discuss everything. If you have them, we'll ask for your current website admin, domain, analytics, hosting, and any other applicable login information. If doing User Experience, we will first walk you through a few planes of UX, beginning with going over your business/product strategy (interview stakeholders and users, review competitors, do an existing product audit). We'll then do scope: generate some requirements, define the structure, wireframes, the flow and navigation. Finally, we'll cover the surface/polish with the overall design, colors and typography. I say finally because that's typically the last step before we move into development, UX for your product however should be continually tested and tweaked. So, if you didn't check off UX on your quote from us we would either be working off of your existing UX work, or perhaps just going straight into design or even development where we'd design in-browser or use your provided design. Some people don't need, know about or know the value of doing all of these UX "pre-processes", and we're not here to push that on you or be a hard-sell, we just provide the information and let you pick what you need. If you don't need UX what we'll typically do is work out your requirements during the quote process. We will then start with a quick wireframe (if needed) and a design mock. Once the design is approved we'll then begin development. Based on your requirements, we will then begin mapping out a deployment process, server provisioning, and putting everything into a new private git repository. We will be developing the site locally (on our machines) and periodically will deploy them to a testing server for your review. After development of the main functionality is complete, we will then integrate the approved design to form the finished product. A popular choice of CMS, and one we have the most experience with is WordPress. For all WP projects, we customize the admin (while maintaining updatability of the WP core) to fit your needs. We love to empower you to make edits to your website yourself, and strive to make that process as painless as possible for you. After the project is complete, we then do a tutorial with you on using and updating your site. We do this over screen share, and rarely takes longer than 30 minutes, its that easy. We provide a one year warranty on websites for issues that are created by us or missed during the initial process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
