FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I love education especially anything that has to do with weddings. I graduated from PCDI (Professional Career Development Institute) in 2003. And I plan to keep going to other schools for wedding planning as well. I always do research online too to find out the new and up to date stuff on weddings, vendors, and most popular, etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into my line of work by helping friends and family over the years plan their weddings. But as a kid I have always love wedding dresses and veils and playing dress up in them. I guess you could say that it was and is in my blood. I love this line of work and I dont see myself ever wanting to do anything else. Plus I love to see the looks on brides and brooms faces at the weddings and seeing how happy they are and everyone else is too. It is one of the happiest times of peoples lives and I love being a part of that and making clients dreams come true.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Me and my husband were at my mothers, best friends, sons wedding. We were there as guests and we noticed that they didnt have a wedding planner. The wedding was beautiful, but they had arranged to have the DJ do announcements and to run the wedding. Apparently the DJ had never done that before. We told them that we were wedding planners and if they wanted us to step in and help out we would make the announcements for the wedding, and help out with running it as well. They agreed with that. The bride and groom were getting ready to cut the cake, they were standing there not sure what to do, so I stepped up and got the attention of the photographers to take pictures and I showed them how to make the first cut into their wedding cake. Later I took the cake and cut it for them to serve to guests. Later the bride and groom came up to us and said how much they appreciated what we did for them and that we had saved their wedding. They were very pleased that we were there to help. It made me and my husband feel good for what we did. It was unexspected to have to step in like that but we would do it over and over again if that is what it takes. We love doing weddings that much!!
