David B. says, "Arison Construction built an addition for us which consisted of a kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room in a 1925, railroad home, close to the University of Arizona. Remodels especially in old homes can be demanding, which Mr. Leyva handled well, with excellent results, all this within budget. I am still using his services at this time for other projects."See more

Joshua Pena
Josh and his helpers did a great job putting external foam board insulation and stucco on the cinder block casita I use for a home office. Prior to the job my AC couldn't get summer afternoon temps below 95, now I can keep it at a comfortable 75.

Rare for a contractor, Josh always showed up when he said he would. He kept in close touch with me by phone or text, always letting me know when he would be there. He worked long hours in terrible heat. He was always friendly, positive, and thoughtful. He bid the job flat rate, and he put in more time and care than I expected -- no corner cutting.

The project was complicated and neither of us had done a job just like this -- we were using poly ISO foam board covered with a base of cement stucco and a topcoat of acrylic stucco. I wanted the cement base to keep the woodpeckers from hammering into the foam board. Before Josh, I talked with another stucco contractor who was going to hammer concrete nails to fasten the foam board and wire lath to the cinder blocks. Aside possible issues with fracturing the cinder block, the nails would have transferred heat through the foam board. So we ended up using special plastic anchors I ordered from Amazon. Each of 300 anchors required a 5/16th inch hole to be drilled in the cinder block. Josh cheerfully did it this way, even though it increased the work, and the final result is solid and there was no loss in insulation due to bridging. Josh came back a couple days after I paid him to clean up the site. I'm more used to contractors disappearing when it comes time for clean up. All in all Josh was great to work with and gave excellent value for money. I've overseen many home renovation projects with many contractors, and Josh made it easy!

Had to replace two exterior service doors and framing that were originally installed on my older townhouse. Needed a contractor to restore the stucco around the openings and have the new stucco and doors painted. Came across Robert Bedoy on Thumbtack and was impressed with what I saw and the excellent comments left by other users. I contacted Robert by phone and was impressed with his professional manner and answering all my questions with straight forward responses. Invited Robert to come over for a quote. By the next day Robert was here to quote the project and time estimated to complete. He came back with an excellent price for the requested work and time frame to complete. I accepted his quote on the spot.

Robert was at my home within the next day or two to begin the project. I was very impressed from the get-go when he laid out his tools and began working. It was very easy to see he was a professional and absolutely knew what he was doing. It took one day to complete the project with Robert coming back two days later to insure all had dried and turned out just as we had expected it to.

From my point of view, Robert will be my first choice for future work at my home. He was very professional and fair with his pricing and my new doors now look SUPER!
