David Monahan says, "We hired D&J Pressure Washing to clean the floors of our patio and sidewalks, front and back of the property. The patio floor, in particular, was a mess with dirt, grime and heel-mark build-up on the heavily traffic areas inside our patio. The floors had been previously polished on several occasions so that had to be stripped off before a new coat could be applied to the stained concrete.Damien and co., removed all the furniture from the patio before tackling the mess under their feet. A picture is worth a thousand words. Just look at the before and after images of the patio job; we couldn't be happier with the results! After stripping the old polish, grime and scuff marks, D&J Pressure Washing applied two coats of supplied floor polish by hand with a mop and the shine immediately popped; the end result was just beautiful. The Irish Wolfhound Restaurant & Pub would have no problem contracting D&J Pressure Washing in the future. The prices were reasonable, communication was top notch and the workmanship speaks for itself. Thank you!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have someone hang your Christmas lights?

It will likely cost between $200 and $400 to hire someone to hang your Christmas lights and holiday decorations. For an accurate cost estimate, ask installers near you to give you a price quote. Let them know if you need them to supply the lights, how many you want to hang and other details about this project.

When should you hang Christmas lights?

There’s no set rule of when you should or shouldn’t hang your Christmas lights. Some homeowners wait until after Halloween or Thanksgiving. Others may choose to hang them a few weeks before Christmas or at the beginning of December.

What do you use to hang Christmas lights outside?

If you want to hang up Christmas lights (or other holiday light fixtures) outdoors, you’ll need the following:

  • Christmas and holiday lights
  • Extension cords
  • Gloves
  • Gutter clips
  • Ladder
  • Power stakes
  • Tape measure

Instead of hanging the Christmas lights yourself, you can hire a professional installer to take care of this project for you.

What is the best way to hang Christmas lights on your house?

The best way to hang Christmas lights on your house is to use some type of light clip (sometimes called gutter clips). To help ensure your safety, however, consider hiring a professional installer who has experience with hanging Christmas lights, handling electrical cords and using ladders.

How many feet of Christmas lights do you need for a house?

You’ll need to measure your house to figure out how many Christmas lights you need. Some homeowners may want to start with 60 feet of lights — or 200 feet. You can take the guesswork out of it by hiring a professional installer or handy person to help you measure and install your lights.

How much do I tip Christmas light installers?

How much you tip an installer who hangs your Christmas and holiday lighting is up to your discretion. Some people prefer to tip about 20% for services, while others may choose to tip anywhere from $20-$50. It’s up to you how much you choose to tip.
