FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's very hard to quote a standard price before speaking with a client. It depends on the number of hours, the type of job, etc. - but basic photography for an hour photoshoot plus an edited CD of 10-15 images is in the $300-500+ range. I used to shoot for Celebrate Your Sexy - their prices started at $500 and topped off at around $2,500. I can give you that exact shoot for $500 that includes a little black book and approximately 20 edited images. There is no professional studio that can beat that price - call around if you don't believe me. If you don't decide to hire me, make sure the studio you do hire has a light box, strobe light set-up and isn't trying to wing it with natural light.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to establish a connection over the phone, talk about what it is my customer wants, point them to my website and ask them if my work reflects the type of photography they are looking for, and then set up a date to shoot.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a photographer for over 15 years, however I did not officially start a business until 2009. I have taken numerous Nikon workshops and Photoshop classes, and constantly upgraded my equipment. I shoot with a Nikon full frame D810, it's a beautiful piece of equipment and turns out sharp, crisp images every time.
