The original installer used white caulking next to grey LVP to caulk around door jambs and tub(#1). Also installed a metal transition strip instead of matching material (#2). Called Ben, and he was very responsive. Came back the next day with the installer to remove the white caulking and replace with matching caulk and also to install matching transition strip. Looks better now (#3). Some remaining caulk residue on floor cleaned later.

I think he can improve by providing a detailed receipt or invoice for each job. I think he needs to be more professional when a customer asks for detailed billing regardless of when it is asked for. He got upset right away and was very rude. For the work he did I feel like he over charged me and wasn’t being transparent up front until I asked for a detailed receipt then he cane with an invoice with extra time instead of the receipt for the materials I asked for that was more than his initial quote. He caulked two tubs and replaced the drain plug and repaired a bar within a closet. I doubt it took him 3 hours let alone 5 to do those things.

There is a reason why (Alex/Wallbit_decor) is...... a TOP PRO!! We called him after my mom's house water pipe burst, and the plumber found and fixed it, from the flood we lost a vanity and the wall was also cut because they had to find the leak? Afterward we were left with a big mess, no functioning sink, no vanity, no wall. We ordered a new vanity cabinet/sink combo & called Alex! He came out in 2 days; he started working IMMEDIATLY!!!!! He insulated/drywalled the back, and assembled the vanity, he had to custom cut the legs, as the floor was not level or finished in the back. Attached a new faucet connected all the hoses, p-trap, sink was functioning by end of the 1st day of work! No, leaks. He also installed new 4" marble backsplash, wainscoting, chair rail, caulked, filled all the holes and painted everything like new again. We also had him, re-paint the wainscoting on the staircase and re-attach the handrail. We plan on using him again, for any jobs that come up. We are extremely happy with the QUALITY of the work performed, everything was done correctly, and we are very fussy people. I HIGHLY recommend him for all your home improvement needs; he has over +15 yrs of construction experience so that speaks for itself. Well Done, Alex!!

Dan came with what seemed a great desire to work & expressed his desire to have things done right. Well you would not believe the mess he left me in. He removed a bathroom cabinet & sink . He came with a new sink without letting me know, I would have liked to meet him @the store to pick the one I wanted. While putting the sink flush to the wall he broke the wall mirror. He left the black glue that held the mirror and tried to cover it with caulking. This left flat areas which is different then the rest of the texture. He has not offered to compensate for the mirror. Also the thing you pull up to close the drain is not straight it is leaning to the right and looks awful. When he left I thought he was coming back after the holiday weekend but I have not heard from him. He said he would be back and remove the sink & cabinet from the garage he stated his truck was full. The tiles he installed where the cabinet was are brown the rest of the tile is white. Also all the pipes and drain are exposed. So I @78 am left with a mess after I paid him almost 650.00. Another thing was he emailed me that someone had been without AC for two days so he took the job. It caused me many problems I had even kept my special son home from his program because Dan was suppose to be here @the same time I would have to drive him. I do have pictures but have a new phone not sure yet how to upload.

I hired Justin to start with 3 tasks in my remodeling plan. His listing said $75/hr but he said he now charges "by the job", which would be $295. He was done in less than 2 hours. (that’s $150 an hour!!) I found out he was so fast because the work he did was so poor. He installed a ceiling fan, which seems to be working properly. So, no problem there, as of now. The next task was to remove 2 lights on the exterior of my garage, cap off the power lines and put up the new solar lights that needed no electricity. He apparently tried to put the new lights over the “hole” left by the old ones. All he said was “you may want to caulk around them. When I looked at them after he left, I was appalled. I couldn’t believe he thought the job he’d done was acceptable. There was approx. a 5-inch hole with the light unit barely hanging in the center. The first wind and they’d be in my neighbor’s yard. The last project was to remove the old light next to the front door and put up the new one. This light too, is just barely hanging there, it’s loose, crooked, has a big opening around it and silver screws visible on a brown fixture. All the lights need to be re-done. I had no idea the holes left by the old lights would be so large and noticeable. A responsible handyman would have let me know and we could have worked out a resolution. He answered my first call late in the afternoon when he was here. I believe he was expecting me to set up the next part of the project. When I told him the work was unacceptable, he got quite upset. He has not responded to my calls since. I don’t know if he is unavailable or ignoring me. But I do know I do not want him back to my property. I feel I should be reimbursed for 2 of the 3 tasks. That leaves him with $100 to attach the ceiling fan. How do I go about getting my money back? I've attached pictures showing to problems. The positives… he was very fast in his response to my quote request even though it was in the middle of the night. He was pleasant to deal with, he was on time, and let me know 30 minutes before he was going to be here that he was going to be here in 30 minutes. Please note the paint and texture was already messed up before the job and I knew I needed to repaint. As soon as he arrived, he told me that he recently moved from Greece to here and that he doesn’t speak English that well. Although I feel we were able to communicate adequately. *****The negatives…he didn’t clean up after himself. (even though I brought a small vacuum out for him to use and showed it to him) I ended up having to sweep/ vacuum large amount of drywall dust (I took a picture after cleaning up the inside ) and outside had to pick up The fiberglass insulation and chunks of wood and drywall from the doggie door installation. Perhaps he’s used to working with somebody else that comes along behind him and cleans up, or is not aware that part of the job is cleaning up after yourself. Also, he failed finish off the trim work, which I will have to pay somebody else to do later or do it myself. He also failed to use caulking nor foam insulation spray as the instructions say to which means if it rains and hits the outside of the door, the rain can go into the inner cavity of the wall and that the doggie door can get hotter than it needs to and the dogs might not want to go through it if they get burnt, I will have to take it apart and do that later. He also was not interested in the using the instructions, and this dog door company even has a video online that he could have watched and I told him about it before he started the job. I paid $100 to have my pre-purchased doggie door installed. Which was a good price, however, considering I still have to redo some of the work was it that good of a deal? I guess you get what you pay for. It took him approximately two hours hour to complete the job. Conclusion… I would hire him again however I would probably watch him the whole time and make sure that he followed the instructions and insisted that he cleaned up after himself.

Do not recommend - horrible at communication. Our job was severable; Roberto was to come one day to remove our existing bathtub, and then return the next week to install the next one (we needed the weekend for our electrician to install some new wiring in the wall behind the tub). He stated a prorated price for each portion of the job. He did not show up at the agreed upon time/date for the removal and did not answer or return phone calls until nearly 10 hours later - when he finally called back, he stated he was unable to show because his helper had not shown up. This would’ve been completely understandable *had he communicated this to us instead of leaving us in the dark*. He finally showed up to install the new tub - when he was finished installing the new tub, he demanded an inflated price for the portion of the job he actually completed. After he left, we discovered that the job was not completed correctly (he told us we shouldn’t test run the water at the time of completion because the caulk was drying). The tub spout and shower head run simultaneously when you turn the water on, rather than just through the tub spout. I called Roberto to request he come remedy the issue, considering we’d already paid for the job. He said he would come the next day but never showed up and would not return phone calls. One day later, he texted and said he would come the following day at 10 AM. 10:30 rolls around, no sign of him. He responded to a text and said he’d be here at 11:30. Again, did not show, did not . So - we paid for a job that was not completed correctly, AND had to navigate attempting to communicate with Roberto, which ultimately proved impossible. Do not hire. UPDATE 9/27: After posting the negative review above, Roberto finally reached back out and stated he would come take a look at the tub. He blamed the problem on the fixtures we'd purchased for the tub, so he left while we looked into ordering new ones. My boyfriend decided to contact a different plumber to repair a leak we had in the front yard and to also pay him to diagnose the issue in our bathroom. It turns out that Roberto installed the valve backwards. We called him, told him what the problem was, and he came out to fix it. The day after he fixed that, thinking we'd finally be able to use the bathtub, we discovered that he ALSO did not install the drain correctly. Now he isn't returning calls or text messages to come correct his error on the drain install. Again - do not hire.

I would first like to start this review by saying Jimmy is a very nice man. I do think, however, the business practices could be improved. I described my job to Jimmy both through this site and also by text as "To be clear, I need a 24" vanity, mirror and side cabinet removed and new 24" vanity, mirror and side cabinet installed." He gave me a reasonable flat rate and never asked for a consultation. I then followed up with him again by text to reiterate what I needed done. He came into my house and took a look at my bathroom and said, "I didn't know there would be plumbing involved." I said, "What? Isn't there always plumbing involved with a vanity install?" He seemed very unhappy, which confused me, as I felt I was very clear with what I needed. If there was a miscommunication of the project on my part, he could have just refused the job and left. There was nothing wrong or unusual with my plumbing, it is just part of a vanity install. He then went on to say that the price was going to be more than double because he didn't know what "was going on" with the plumbing behind my current vanity. I'm not sure what that means, as I had put in the previous vanity and it was just regular plumbing. When I said "No" to paying more than double, he came down on the price. This made me uncomfortable because I don't want anyone feeling cheated who is doing work on my home, especially since I felt I was careful to reiterate my project details and was never asked any questions by Jimmy, so I was confident he knew what the job was. I agreed to the lowered price because I didn't want to have to wait to get my new vanity installed. I had already taken all my personal items out of the bathroom. He seemed annoyed and said he had to go buy caulk. He was already 30 minutes late. In the meantime, my boyfriend came home and when he returned and saw a "man" was in the house, his whole attitude changed. I felt like he gave me a low price to get in the door, then seeing that I was a woman, thought he would make a big deal of the project to raise the rate. Like I said, once my boyfriend came over, he became a lot less "annoyed" with my project. He did a good job, but it could have been done a little less sloppy (it doesn't look like a professional install) and my house was left a mess because I didn't have a broom. I would think most professional contractors would have the needed tools and clean up items to complete the job, without relying on the homeowner. At the very least, I think he should have asked questions as to the details of my project or at least asked to come for a consultation to see the project, rather than increasing the price once he agrees to take the job.
