Introduction: I am a respected, professional flutist and flute teacher in the northeast Phoenix metropolitan area. I play principal flute in the Symphony of the Southwest, Phoenix Opera and Four Seasons Orchestra as well as a frequent soloist in many chamber groups here in the valley. Lessons are given in my home and online, always with a caring and nurturing atmosphere. My students enjoy successes such as: First chairs in their school bands; Section leadership skills; Top ratings and winnings in solo festivals and competitions; High school and Junior High All Region and All State placements; Phoenix Youth Symphony and Youth Symphony of the Southwest. I also enjoy working with students returning to the flute after many years, helping to refine their skills so that they can enjoy their community bands, orchestras, flute choirs and playing in their worship services.
Focus is to ensure I uphold my studio to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation. I have sanitizing wipes and wipe off the music stand, pencil, tuner, metronome and chairs we use.
If you feel any type of cold/flu-like symptoms, please do not hesitate to cancel. In return, should I feel sick with the same, I will cancel our lesson.
If you do not feel comfortable with lessons in my home studio, I give online lessons through Zoom. While they are not ideal for the best progress, they may be the best source during the pandemic.
If your instrument needs repair, I will suggest professional people in your area for service. I also ask for books and solos to be purchased pertaining to our current level.
I enjoy bringing the love of flute into people's lives by growing, increasing skill and becoming better at their craft no matter how they enjoy playing: professionally, orchestra, band, flute choir, casually, and purely for the enjoyment.
