FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a customer calls for pricing, I ask where in the valley they are located, if they have seen the website and what service they are looking for. Once I establish we can provide the service they are looking for, I ask for the property address and set a time to meet. Upon arrival for the bid, I meet and greet the customer, hand them my business card and discuss the work to be done. Once we both have an understanding, we schedule the work and agree on payment. If for some reason we can not come to an agreement, a win-win situation, I will not take the job. I go for win-win or no deal. That is just how I operate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Early in my career I mentored with an Arizona Nursery Association member from1998 to summer of 2000. That same summer, I went through a water conservation program called Smartscape and earned my Smartscape certification. In 2001 I started taking college classes pertaining to the lawn & landscape industry such as; Turf Management, Irrigation Management, Urban Plant Care, Pest/Weed Management and Plant ID. I also went through the Arizona Nursery Association training as well as the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association 12 month training. I participate in continuing education every chance I can.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved working with plants and being outside. While in high school I realized this is what I wanted to do as a career. In college, I took classes on; weed control, tree care, urban plant care, turf management, irrigation management, plant problems and soils & fertilizers. I have 20 years experience in this industry and participate in continuing education.
